  1. I think you sit him.  He's 100% healthy now and needs to stay that way.   Just my opinion with nothing to back it with,  but I think if he plays not to get hurt he has a better chance of getting hurt.   I have no idea what they did during practice in 2019.  They should be able to design a practice to get him reps while keeping him safe.  Putting him in game action is rolling the dice.

Me thinks the Ravens better pay Mike Macdonald a lot of money to stick around.

Agreed.  The Ravens always seem to get their best coaches poached whenever the team reaches true elite status.  It's frustrating that other teams like KC or Pittsburgh seem to hang on to theirs for like a decade.  I hope MacDonald doesn't turn into another Pagano situation.   I also saw Monken's name thrown out their for hot head coaching candidates.  Hopefully he like his situation here with Lamar locked up.

  3. I find this whole thing hilarious.  Cleveland fans are chanting Flacco's name at their games.   Joe is the second oldest QB, behind Brady, to throw three (now four)  300 yard games in a row.    He couldn't get any more praise, and deservedly so, from the tv commentators last night.  "He's so good at play-action", they kept saying.   Where was this praise when he played for the Ravens?  All people could talk about then was how he wasn't 'elite' .  Does anyone remember the game Troy Aikman was literally laughing at Joe because he was so bad and the Ravens would not bench him?    Who's laughing now?  Compare Aikman's career stats with Joe's and it's eye-opening.   They are almost identical.

  4. You lose cred by including Texas in your rant.  The only reason they are included is because the Rangers spent like crazy and it worked out for them.  Other teams have tried the same approach (Padres, Phillies, Mets) and it didn't quite work.    It all depends on ownership.  Even the O's in 90's and Nats during their run spent near the top.

Also, in the last 10 years there have been 9 different champions.  I think MLB is quite happy with that.

  5. Makes you wonder if the O's demise in the late 80's could have been avoided by keeping Peters at the helm.  Probably not, given the free hand he was given in Cleveland; but man, he sure did take a lot of front office talent with him.   I would have loved to have seen John Hart follow Peters as Baltimore's GM.

  6. I don't like the play calling when they are near FG range.  They took a deep shot when they still needed 5 yards or so to get in Tucker's range.  Instead, they had to settle on a 55yard attempt Tucker can no longer be depended upon to hit.   Also, Lamar seems to drop back too far and holds on to the ball too long.   They completely took themselves out of FG range a couple of times yesterday.  It's like they have no awareness that taking the three points is a good thing.  I think Lamar tries to do too much and it costs them.

Ho do you watch Redzone? Is that an online option?

Redzone is included in NFL+ which costs $16 per month.   With NFL+ you also get NFL Network and live local games that air in your area on any channel.   So, you get ESPN's MNF game without having ESPN.   NBC's SNF without having NBC, etc..  You also can watch any game via replay 90 minutes after it finishes.   That is how I watched the Colts/Ravens game this year as it wasn't shown in my local area.  They do a pretty good job on NFL.com of blocking the scores if you choose that as an option.   The only downside is I have to watch live games on my tablet.  They don't show live games on the NFL app through my TV due to some contractual reasons.   This is how I NFL.

  8. Those complaining about the unfairness of division winners getting knocked out early won't be complaining when the O's are a wild card team next year.

My idea for a solution is a little bit different.  To qualify for the playoffs a team must win 90 games.  All teams that win 90 games are in.  Get rid of "leagues" and just combine them in a tournament.  This year 8 teams would have qualified.  In 1982, only 5 make it.   Figure out a format based on the number of teams and roll with it.

I was wondering…. Do we… bring Bradish back tomorrow if we win tonight?    Just to further our chances at a game 5?   Throw Gibby game 5 if he isn’t used today

I wouldn't.   They have to win all three regardless. I'd rather give Bradish his greatest chance and put pressure on Texas in a game five.  Now, if Grod pitched well in his outing I would have used both Bradish in game four and Grayson in game five.  Unfortunately, Grayson can't be trusted in such a role this year.

Flaherty has been our worst pitcher.

Yes, but Webb is a  waiver guy.  He was let go by the Angels.  Flaherty has a ton of playoff experience.  Why is he on the roster if Hyde doesn't  use him in an obvious spot where he should be used?

  11. That was their chance.  How do you not score with Chapman patching that poorly?

Rangers may win this series with the Orioles hitting so poorly, but the Astros will roll over them.
