  1. That is because babying pitchers has accelerated quite a bit since he retired. Making a big deal of throwing 3 days in a row is just one example.
  2. Hear that Roy? Their pitching staff is pretty good haha.
  3. If Perez can return to '22 form that would be an incredible boost.
  4. He is probably going to have to regain their trust in much lower leverage situations.
  5. Webb throwing three days in a row?? The pitch count police will be coming for Hyde's hyde.
  6. Perfectly normal and did no harm for 100 years relatively speaking. "Crazy" today.
  7. I hope the baseball world can see right through this tweet and not let JA off the hook.
  8. Absolutely. That was the whole idea. Was more of a play in game. Win your division or deal with that dicey situation.
  9. It sure is. System they had before was way better. But every dollar has to be squeezed out. Just like the ads on the walls and painted on the fields now. Nothing is enough.
  10. Well back in the day it would have been inevitable....but with the expanded (yuck) playoffs we might dodge them.
  11. Which is why Mountcastle returning like the monster he has been will go a long way to overcome these shortcomings
  12. Watching this at work following along on the mlb site is sheer torture.
  13. The Mountain has to be pretty anxious and pretty wired sitting out there right about now.
  14. It's not just pitch counts but also innings limits. Pitchers aren't allowed to build up their arms like they did for most of baseball's history and there isn't a lot of evidence to do it. I do admit that kids playing baseball year round might be a contributing factor.
  15. Cano hasn't been the same for well over a month. Balls are coming off of the bat a lot different these days. League adjusted to him and now it is his turn.
  16. Might be true. I think there is a self fulfilling prophecy with the pitch count believers though. It was 120 pitches for a while there. Now it is 100.
  17. It is a convenient narrative against Dusty. I would say the biggest problem with Dusty as a manager is that he doesn't manage any differently in the post season vs regular season.
  18. That was really bad. Maybe they are trying to make us appreciate KB even more when he returns tomorrow.
