  1. As a lifelong resident of northern Virginia and fan of this team since 1982 all I can say is I completely disagree. I am patiently waiting for the rebuild process and am very excited. Fans will be back. There isn't a lot of incentive to go to the ballpark to see a team you know has not chance at postseason action.
  2. Nine guys take the field. Nine guys hit. That is real baseball.
  3. Whatever they decide I hope they don't expand the playoff field. Fewer teams that make the post season the better. Too much of a crap shoot once you get to the playoffs. That is why you play 162 games. I like the set up the way it is now. The one game wild card is perfect. Unfortunately I expect they will follow the NFL model of 8 four team divisions. Boooo
  4. Yes and some consider him to be the best overall prospect since Harper in 2010.
  5. BUMP (sort of): Did not want to start a separate thread but where on Earth is the discussion on the upcoming draft?? We have the number one pick and there is nothing lol. I scrolled and scrolled and this is it. Really weird.
  6. OK according to my math he is at 41 with 5 more at bats to tie record!!!!
  7. No comments on Davis today? 0-4 with 2 Ks. This is getting exciting no? How many away are we from record? Should be more buzz.
  8. It is such a shame. I really really enjoyed watching him play in 2013. He would appear to just make simple contact and the ball would carry and carry and carry. And he picked it with the glove nicely too.
  9. I really like the trade deadline and the roster size changes. The rest are simply awful. Leave the game alone.
  10. To me there are two issues with the game today. Pace of play and lack of balls in play during games. Pitch clock and banning the shift would go a long way to tackle both of these problems. I am not crazy about either one but I love the sport and want what is best for it.
  11. The DH was an abortion when it was introduced and continues today.
  12. My dad was not a baseball fan so I took it up on my own around 11 which was 1982. Just flipping around and saw Chuck Thompson and Brooks on channel 20 here in northern Virginia and I was hooked.
  13. It's the old adage. When you try to prevent getting hurt you end up getting injured. Which is probably what we are going to see in the NFL this season with the ridiculous helmet rule.
  14. Which is why I continue to be baffled why they are babied with pitch counts and innings limits. How is that approach working out for everyone?
  15. LOL where is Schoop going to play in Milwaukee? Shortstop?
  16. http://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/24129382/orioles-get-quantity-no-future-stars-manny-machado-trade
  17. For a superstar in his prime who may help them win a World Series? A good bit.
  18. What an awesome play Givens made there. One of the most exciting plays in baseball is the play at the plate. Thank God that interference nonsense didn't get invoked here. Just a bang bang natural play that rightfully stood.
  19. Ugh maybe you're right. Not suggesting they don't belong in the post season but you get the idea. What is depressing is the MFY's are only going to get better.
  20. I agree with OFFNY. The only tweak that is needed is to expand the Division Round to a full seven games. Everything else is great. I love the Wild Card one game playoff. In reality it is a play IN game. It keeps many more teams in the hunt while at the same time puts a premium on winning division. And to those who whine think about it this way. Back in the day these Wild Card teams wouldn't even be in the post season so they should be thankful they have a one time shot of getting in at all. I am not a fan of realignment. And I am not a fan of the DH either. But I could live with both as long as they don't expand the number of teams that make it to the post season. This year is a perfect example. The MFY's didn't have nearly as good of a regular season as the Indians or Astros yet are on the verge of beating both of them and making it to the World Series. The more teams you allow into the post season the more situations where an inferior team advances. The regular season is long for a REASON! It is to ensure whoever makes it to the playoffs absolutely belongs to be there and has earned it.
  21. I think they were treated like that when they first put it in. Then they started selling them as actual seats. That way when you got up from your seat you didn't lose it haha. Here is an article on how you used to be able to buy them. It apparently is no longer done like this. http://thebaltimorechop.com/2013/07/08/orioles-bar-stool-seats/
  22. Does anyone know the policy on the seats located in center field bar area? In the past they showed up on Orioles ticket site as "Roof Deck (reserved seats)" and would appear a few weeks before a scheduled game. I don't see them anywhere for any game in the near future. Thanks in advance....
