  1. That is awful:eek:

    Typical nosy NC type person:angryfire:

My landlords Mom in NC stopped by EVERY 2 minutes:angryfire:

Careful. Not all NC people are nosy. One is perfect. If he were my landlord I wouldn't object to the whole climbing up a ladder to the bedroom window thing. ;)

But seriously my landlords are evil. It turns out they put some of the new windows in in my spare bedroom while I was out. They are much worse than the old ones. There's a huge gap at the bottom of them and the screens don't fit right and won't stay in place. Idiots! :cussing:

  2. My landlady is insane! Yesterday she and her husband came over to install new storm windows in the upstairs bedrooms without telling me! Fortunately I wasn't home but if I had been taking a nap or a shower or entertaining a gentleman you can bet the person on a ladder removing my bedroom windows would have been met with a baseball bat, pepper spray, or both! :angryfire:

  3. True. And she knew that coming in. It doesn't diminish the fact that telling your daughter she is stupid for getting hurt and refusing to give her $20 is extremely callous.

Very true. For the majority of parents, $45,000 a year just for tuition is a pretty extreme sacrifice, and one that can be avoided by choosing a good state school and/or getting scholarships, but $50 or $100 for unexpected medical expenses when the kid is basically self-supporting shouldn't be much of a stretch unless the parents are in really dire financial straights.

  4. I'm sure some guys on here do that when they are 30.

Well then at least they'd be talking to a woman their own age... and not about stuff that happened before she was born. :rolleyestf::D

  5. A word of advice since most of you on here are guys...

When you are 50, do not waste your time trying to impress 30 year old women with stories about all the ways you almost killed yourself on a college road trip when you were 20. :bs:

  6. Up-to-the-minute Brett Favre "coverage".

I'm sorry ESPN - Farve chartering a plane is not "Breaking News". Just give it a rest already. Jeez.

Brett Favre chartering a plane sounds more interesting to me than close to half the garbage that gets reported as "breaking news" on TV.

Of course that's not to say that Brett Favre chartering a plane is remotely interesting.

  7. I didn't watch the game, but...seriously?

I'm sure you've seen the same pitch (or pitches in the same location, they have been both fastballs and breaking balls) called a strike multiple times if you've watched most of the games this year. It has to happen to Brian at least 3-4 times a week, probably more. A lot are for strike three but it also happens earlier in the count. Whenever he bats lefthanded, catchers set up well off the plate and get ridiculous pitches called strikes. A couple of months ago someone posted charts of all the pitches against certain hitters and the results. I wish I could find that link again.

  8. BRob getting called "strikes" that are eight inches outside and six inches below the knees. It's really freaking ridiculous. At least half the umpires we've faced are calling terrible pitches strikes in that area when he bats left handed and pitchers have clearly picked it up and are taking advantage by simply throwing balls off the low outside corner and having them called strikes. :angryfire:

McLovin, is there a way to set a post on "auto repeat"? This one is needed at least once every 2-3 days. It has gotten to a level that's beyond ridiculous at this point. Brian's second called strike three today was a ball but at least close to the strike zone. The first one there was absolutely no excuse in the world for. It was very literally 6 inches below his knees and close to a foot off the plate. Molina was even set up a foot outside before the pitch was thrown. Pitchers and catchers around the league clearly know that they can get a free called strike against Roberts by throwing it somewhere there's absolutely no possibility of him hitting it. I don't know if it's some kind of punishment for appearing in the Mitchell Report or what, but it's clearly looking like there's some kind of conspiracy against Roberts on that one particular pitch! :angryfire::cussing::mad:

  9. Sitting 4 rows deep in Left Center Field I could see it was low and outside. I think after the really long 1st and 2nd the Umps were just on a mission to speed the game along. It was a FAST call too, it's not like he thought about it at all, he had it made up in his mind if he took it was a strike.

Where the devil is Trembley when these things are happening to his players over and over and over? That was a very key at bat in the game, the call was unbelievably awful (not to mention that "strike one" was also a ball), Roberts was yelling and throwing his bat and no manager to be seen. Something is wrong with that picture. :cussing:

  10. I did not see the game but I am mad just thinking about it:angryfire:

I'm sure you can imagine. You must have seen the exact same bad pitch called a strike at least 100 times this year already. :cussing:

  12. I got "I noticed you looking at my profile. Can I help you with anything?" I wrote back "No thanks" and never heard another word. It probably wouldn't have had much interest in me since I'm female, although who knows???

Actually, I mentioned that I was female in a thread (not like it's any secret) and got a series of PMs from Bikini trying to talk me into posting pictures of myself. That was when I got a little suspicious.

  13. Stay far away from Morganton NC:eek:... Pleeease just trust me on this one!!!!:eektf::rolleyestf::002_scry::down:

Is that where you lived near Asheville? It's not too close... which is a good thing because it looks like I am in fact moving to Asheville in about a month. :eektf:

  14. A huge number of athletic coaches from a bunch of different sports are apparently having a conference in Greensboro North Carolina. This is fine except for the fact that I had randomly picked Greensboro as the spot on the map to stop over and find a cheap hotel for the night, having no idea that this conference was going on or that there were even enough coaches in the world to fill that many hotel rooms.

  15. Ivan Rodriguez.

When he spiked Brandon Fahey tonight it occurred to me that I've probably vehemently hated him for longer than any other active baseball player. It's time for his formerly Pudgy butt to retire already! At the very least it's time for a Daniel Cabrera fastball to knock some decency into his still-inflated head.

  16. My 19 year old sister is ridiculously rude to my parents. They pay her college tuition, room and board and let her live with them in the summer, and all she does is yell at them and make snide comments about how superior she is. It makes visiting my parents very difficult because I hate seeing them verbally abused as they're getting older. :angryfire:

  17. We win a big game on the road against a great team , and what do I see on a few threads.."ESPN showed the Red Sox highlights first"..People just can't enjoy the win. I just don't get it. If people can't complain about something, they're just not happy.

Orioles' players seem to have moved beyond the "losing attitude" of the past decade, but the fans are lagging behind. Can Kevin Millar do something to get the fans to "cowboy up"? That will be the true test of his leadership.

  18. Seriously, why would anyone in their right mind still want to trade Brian Roberts to the Cubs of all people? The players they tried to trade for him haven't done jack this year (except Gallagher who's been pretty decent but nothing worth trading Brian for by any stretch). And yet it seems like 1/4 of Oriole land still wants to trade him there just for the sake of trading him. Pathetic! No wonder good players don't want to come to/stay in Baltimore!

  19. I may be the only one, but  to the new smilies. Or maybe it's just  to the posters who have decided to use smilies as a new language rather than typing words. :cussing:

":cussing:" is quite useful because we aren't allowed to type the words it represents.

  20. I just opened a can of mixed nuts that are supposed to be "lightly salted" and have 50% less sodium than regular mixed nuts. They are the saltiest freaking nuts I have ever tasted in my life!
