  1. Chef Elliot showed his kids the Orioles HOF. Taught him about Frank Robinson.
  2. McDonald brings up that Cedric hit 30/30 this year, not even Mantle did that. Who are we playing tonight? Is there even a baseball game on right now?
  3. Food is a way to express yourself, how to learn history. McDonald wants to know what food interests kids the most. There's no right or wrong according to the Chef. Melanie wants to know what card he wants the most. Apparently he's got a '52 Mantle he's proud of.
  4. Could not care any less about this game right now. Milo, Conrad, Jedidiah, those are his kids names. Very cool. He has his kids help him cook things to make food interesting to them. Also does cooking shows with kids.
  5. Elliot has a tattoo for every state he grew up in. For Maryland, it's an Oriole Bird logo.
  6. I'm not paying attention to the game, it's boring.
  7. Elliot loves the memories of Camden Yards the most. Seeing Hoiles, Devereaux, Brady. One year he sent 50 baseball cards with a self addressed stamped envelope, he got one card back signed and it was Brady Anderson.
  8. Chef's name is Graham Elliot. He's a cool dude.
  9. He likes putting a line in the water...is it a tuna? Eel? likes the suspense. Apparently it was a quick half inning (again, I wasn't paying attention) and they've invited him to stay for the next half inning. Chef is thrilled that they asked him to stay in the booth.
  10. Ben likes to cook. I'm not paying attention to the game.
  11. Chef feels that baseball is the one constant. No matter where you are in the world, you have baseball. He's collected cards to stay connected to that.
  12. Chef has a Ben McDonald rookie card! He's a fan!
  13. He feels that he's very blessed to do what he does.
  14. This chef has cooked for Obama, Eminem and Radiohead. Very diverse.
  15. Top of the third inning, no game thread? Ya'll are slipping. I tuned in just in time to get an in-game interview with some chef. Ben McDonald is questioning him about cajun cuisine. Very informative.
  16. I'm assuming they were high leverage situations, too.
  17. Exactly. The consistency has been remarkable. Now that he's got 30-30 in the bag, it's going to be interesting to see if he can finish over .900. @NattyI'm glad you didn't jinx it!
  18. On top of it, the way he'd bounce back this year when going into a mini slump or have a few hitless games in a row...just made it seem more real. Just when you thought the mirage was fading away, he'd bust out with a few games of two or three hits and keep on trucking.
  19. If Mullins can come close to replicating what he did this year in 2022, you're going to have to start to wonder if he's going to wind up with a better career than Jones. Jones has a leg up in the sense that he was playing full time at a younger age. But Mullins with a 6.2 rWAR season has a chance to catch him. Even if he doesn't catch him from a WAR perspective, he could lay claim to putting together better seasons than Jones ever did.
  20. Anyway, I'm not so concerned as to when G-Rod and AR will be up. I think we can all agree that they should make the OD roster but if the service clock manipulation rule is still in place, they'll be in the minors until that date passes. And while none of us like that, gaining an extra year of time is worth it. I'm more concerned about what the rest of the roster will look like with G-Rod and AR. Damn shame Taveras had to make a great play because I would have liked to have heard what Elias would have said about how aggressive they'll be in free agency, though I wouldn't believe any of it either. They need some good players on the team to compliment them. I'd like to see AR catch for good pitchers, not Harvey types.
  21. 4 appearances in 5 games, Froberto Clemente. That's not good. If we were in a playoff hunt? I'd get it. But not sleepwalking to the end of a 100+ loss season. Wells as been one of the few pleasant surprises this season, probably #4 behind Mullins, Mountcastle (I think we expected him to be good, but not 30+ homer good and not as good as he's been after his terrible start) and Mancini.
  22. I think you can admit to yourself that it's only you that has a problem with this.
  23. Would love to see Buck in San Diego next year.
  24. Yeah, I've got a chance at a date with Emily Ratajkowski, too. The only chance that G-Rod and AR make it out of ST on the 25 man roster for Opening Day is if the current clock manipulation rules are negotiated away in the next collective bargaining agreement. If those rules are the same in 2022 as they are now? We'll be waiting for a few weeks. God, I hate it when an in-game interview interrupts the game. It's a sign that the game just isn't interesting enough. @Philipshouldn't be allowed to comment on this thread, too, since it contains information collected from an in-game interview which he so loathes.
