  1. Hey, Mike, if you're reading. It's all good bro, I totally get it. Really, I do.
  2. Mountcastle with a blast! I think he can win ROY if he finishes with a nice, round total of 35 homers.
  3. What's it say about Baltimore that people just automatically assume everyone who lives there knows The Wire by heart? If we don't get 1:1, I'm okay with it as long as we've ruined Boston's season. I will slowly sip Sox fans tears with a smile on my face. **** New England and their sports.
  4. I also agree with this. I'm happy to play spoiler if we don't end up with the 1st pick.
  5. Exactly. If we didn't have the other outfielders coming down the pike I'd probably be a bit more hesitant to move him.
  6. The defense is nice, I agree. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop RE: injuries. Quite frankly, I'd like to sell high on Hays right now. I mean, it's hard to know when you think you're selling high, right? Right now, we would be selling high on Hays, he's put together a 20 homer season and stayed relatively healthy as he can. This is the high-water mark of his career so far. We could deal him and he could turn into a 30-30 guy next year somewhere else with great defense. At that point, it would be clear we didn't sell high on him. But if he could net us a good pitching prospect or two as part of a package, I wouldn't hesitate. I wouldn't be actively shopping but I would let other teams know I'd be willing to take calls on him.
  7. I agree, I hope they all are, too. But I'd rather have a 51 win team with some cool individual accomplishments than a team without.
  8. Coby Mayo says hello. I think if there's a consensus #1 pick, Elias will take that guy. He did that with AR. If there's not a consensus #1 pick, he might go the under-slot route. Which is fine.
  9. I want the 1:1 pick, too. But for as crappy as this season has been from a W/L perspective, there's still been a lot to be pleased with. Like Mullins 30/30, Mountcastle being a legit rookie of the year candidate and leading all rookies in homers, Mancini bounceback, Means no-hitter...and that's not counting what's happened down on the farm with AR, G-Rod, Henderson, Mayo, Pinto, etc. It's been a bad year on the surface but there's been a lot of good stuff that's happened...unlike the 2018 team which was the corpse of a once good team. All I can remember from that year is a team that played well below expectations (even if those expectations were modest), unloading players at the deadline and getting guys back who's names I can no longer recall. At least there will be some highlights to look back on in several years. Maybe this will mark the start of a turnaround. Knowing the Orioles, probably not...but it could.
  10. I'm not a fan. While it's been a good season for him and he's had a lot of good moments, I still don't buy into the idea that he's magically going to be healthy from here on out. In other words, I don't trust him. That, and he's a low OBP guy. If this were 1990, I'm assuming I'd feel differently.
  11. Mancini has better value, for sure. Severino, I'd imagine, has next to nothing.
  12. This has that feeling of a game where we're gonna get shut out.
  13. I admire the optimism but I wouldn't go that far. Vlad Jr. is special. Mountcastle will be very, very good and there's nothing wrong with that. I just don't think he's going to be special, IMO.
