I would agree, but again, I don't think it's a long-term strategy that is going to pay off for them. We'll see how they hold up over the course of the season. The Rays were geniuses for using openers 3x a week, that fad ended pretty fast.

It's a great strategy when they can throw good breaking balls. When they can't it's not. I doubt they pitch like that the whole season.

Marsh isn't soft-tossing, he averages 94 on his fastball. If you want to say they struggle against good off-speed pitching, then I'd agree, he had good off-speed stuff last night. The Red Sox decided they aren't going to throw fastballs this year, we'll see how that works out for them going forward. PS. All teams struggle against good off-speed stuff when a pitcher is on. Marsh was on.

Ah, that makes sense. Only the fastest guys in the league hit the ball to him. He got Christian Vazquez by a step on a hot shot, he really gets down the line.

He leads the team with 3 OAA. When someone on the broadcast mentioned OAA weighs close plays at first highly, it all made sense. He makes every play close the way he throws. If he keeps it up he'll be 25 OAA by the end of the season despite fanning on balls hit at him.

I think they have more data than is available freely on the web. If you're making your lineup from BBREF splits, you'll probably have a trash team.

I honestly don't think it's even his bat that is going to send him down. If he was playing a high level of 2B, I think you could carry him, but he's not.

I think it will be Kjerstad with a Urias/Mateo platoon at 2B.
