  1. Only 16 pitchers in all of MLB had 200+ Ks last season, and Mitch Keller was one of them. Yes he had some epic meltdowns in the second half, but I still think he has considerably more upside than Dean Kremer. The difference between the two are the Ks and the upside.
  2. That's not how I read your - if they player's are good with it I'm good with it - comment. If that's what you really meant then I think we're on the same page. If Elias is considering signing Bauer then consulting the players is something he absolutely should do as he weighs the pros and cons. My point about the adults making the decisions was that even with their imput Elias (i.e., the adult) should ultimately be the one to make the call.
  3. C'mon man, you know damn well that I was was speaking in hyberbole. My point was that someone who's more experienced and qualified (i.e., Elias) should be making the decision (not the players) and in this case that person happens to be older. If you're upset about the Moose, Jr post then I apologize. That was 100% meant as a joke.
  4. My point was the screen shots you posted didn't exactly paint a picture of Bauer being a baseball savant. And yes that's relelvant to the discussion because some folks have noted his potential ability to provide guidance and tutelage to our younger players as a selling point for taking a chance on him.
  5. The majority of my posts have been about my concerns about Bauer affecting the team's chemistry and his actually ability to perform on the field. Those topics/opinions aren't stereotypcial of any generation. So I'm really not sure what you're talking about when you say I'm taking "Boomer stances". What is stereotypical (of an older mentaility) is you downplaying the significance of social media in today's world and not awknowledging that famous people following and unfollowing each other is a pretty big deal (whether we like it or not). And for the record I'm not a Boomer either.
  6. LOL. Josh Tomlin's career ERA is 4.77. That's some A+ tutelage by Bauer!
  7. We all know you're an old soul, Moose.
  8. Nice try Grandpa. Instagram has 2+ billion monthly active users; TikTok has 1+ billion monthly active users.
  9. You guys are just begging to get Ok Boomered
  10. That's not the point I was making. Yes, he's overpaid, but suggesting that he's the second coming of Adam Frazier is ridiculous. Xander Bogaerts has more HRs over the last three seasons than Adam Frazier has over his entire career. He's a very good player who was mistakenly paid as a great player.
  11. Like I said in another post, actions speak louder than words. This comes after it was discovered a number of Dodgers players unfollowed Bauer on Instagram, including Turner, Muncy, Mookie Betts, Albert Pujols, Kenley Jansen, Chris Taylor and Dustin May.
  12. Or add another S to MASN and give it the acronym it deserves
  13. He's certainly done enough to warrant it, but at the same time they probably shouldn't do it. Those two things can be mutually exclusive.
  14. While we discuss / think about what SP we should trade or sign as a FA I'm just going to drop this collection Edward Cabrera's nasty change-ups in your feed.
  15. Your points are taken, but it's the majority of Bauer supporters who continue to steer the conversation away from on-field, clubhouse, and actual baseball implications.
  16. That's fine and I'm trying my damndest to focus on the clubhouse / on field implications (which at least seem somewhat relevant), but everyone in this thread seems to be more concerned with making this a social commentary on the persecution of an "innocent" man.
  17. I'm not sure why you continue to make this about guilt and innocence and to completely dismiss his on field antics and actual projected on field performance which are actual relevant topics to discuss. Stop pushing your hidden Bauer is a patsy agenda. No one cares.
  18. FWIW I have a feeling what was said publicly and what was said behind closed doors are two entirely different things. "Two people with knowledge of Dodgers clubhouse dynamics, who are unauthorized to speak publicly about the situation, said that a majority of players do not want Bauer back under any circumstances." https://www.truebluela.com/2021/7/26/22593021/trevor-bauer-dodgers-teammates-anonymously-distancing
  19. I'm of the opinion that actions speak louder than words and he still had several "incidents" while playing in Japan last season.
  20. Really? I would think the Angels would be the frontrunner
  21. Bogaerts is twice the offensive player Frazier is or ever will be. He was extremely unlucky last season and was also playing hurt.
  22. I did, but it's a bit hard to give it much credence when he's still having incidents as recent as last season. Based on his actions it's pretty clear to me that wherever Trevor Bauer goes he's still going to need to be the center of attention, which is the exact opposite of humility. https://nypost.com/2023/07/02/trevor-bauer-throws-tantrum-on-teammates-in-japanese-league/ https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/jan/17/trevor-bauer-japan-ridge-alkonis-tweet https://larrybrownsports.com/baseball/trevor-bauer-called-out-japan-disrespectful-celebration-sword/614663
  23. Agreed, although I think there is definitely a general proclivity in baseball for the younger players to look towards/defer to the older players. So debating whether or not Rutschman or Henderson is the leader is probably silly, but discussing the potential implications of adding an older player with baggage to that dynamic seems justifiable.
  24. This article is from Dec of 2023. Apparently MLB's goal is to have "both national and local broadcast revenue run through the league's media department". I could see that eventually happening for every team not named the Yankees or Dodgers. https://sports.yahoo.com/how-the-collapse-of-the-regional-sports-network-is-affecting-mlb-economics-now-and-in-the-future-155227283.html
  25. Fair enough and I wasn't trying to be overly critical (of you).
