  1. Hopefully he gets really hot. The Braves are having issues with the back of their pen.
  2. I agree with this. I think I've mentioned before that with the focus on launch angles now, Bundy would be better served to work his fastball up in the zone.
  3. I think that with the emphasis now on launch angles, Bundy might be better served working his fastball up in the strikezone. His fastball isn't good enough to work at the knees and might play up higher in the zone.
  4. MLB has considered "juicing" the balls, whether or not they actually have is another story. From 2015.... https://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/mlb-commissioner-rob-manfred-recognizes-boring-needs-change-more-offense-adapt-quickly-012515 ".... The data packet that baseball sent to the union — and subsequent informal conversations — included the following ideas, according to the source: • Lowering the mound. • Bringing in the fences in every park (a decision generally left to the individual clubs). • Wrapping the ball tighter to make it fly farther. • Adjusting the strike zone, which has gotten wider and lower, according to baseball’s data. • Adopting the designated hitter in the National League. Now don’t start howling on social media — none of these ideas has even progressed to a proposal, and it’s possible that none ever will." In any event, if the trend today is all about launch angles, I would think it would make more sense to pitch up in the strikezone.
  5. Apparently Miguel Tejada was seen injecting them with B-12.
  6. I think Bundy's ceiling has dropped to a mid-rotation guy but he still can be a decent back end starting pitcher. He is what he is.
  7. I wonder if Hyde purposely saved Severino to hit for Mullins late in the game. He had an opportunity to pinch hit for Sucre earlier and chose not to. It didn't work out ( albiet Severino should have had a walk), but it was a good move regardless in hindsight.
  8. I think it would make a slight difference because our lineup is full of holes so having Mancini up with men on base is key. When he bats second, the odds of anyone other than Villar on base is low.
  9. I think batting Mancini second is wasting his run producing ability since the bottom of our lineup is terrible.
  10. Their resumes aren't exactly awe inspiring. They are what they are. I expect things to get worse before they get better....if that's possible.
  11. Wouldn't it be something if Davis ends up leading our team in batting without raising his average?
  12. I don't think he's a particularly good catcher even though he has some versatility because he can play other positions. I'm not sure he hits enough to justify taking a roster spot though. Imo, his ceiling is an average mlb player.
  13. 75% of his hits have gone for extra bases.
  14. We probably had a chance to obtain Glasnow in part of a Gausman deal. We didn't, TB did. I think identifying talent in other organizations was an issue. Hopefully that will change.
  15. The thing that gets me with that trade is, at the time the Pirates were looking at both Gausman and Archer. If we could have somehow pried one of Meadows or Glasnow for Gausman, it would have been a great deal for us. Instead, it looks like we moved him to dump salary.
  16. I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Is there a reason for that? Teams' pens having been taking a beating all around baseball to start the season.
  17. Don't be so sure. I can see us carrying an extra arm with that spot.
  18. "Streak" aside, if bunting is going to help the team, maybe he should try it. This streak has taken a life of it's own, maybe Davis can try to do something that will help the club win if he's going to refuse a demotion or buyout. At the very worst, he might be able to put runners in scoring position for someone else to try and score them. Trying to win games should take precedence over him getting a hit and who knows?; maybe both can happen this way.
  19. Yeah, it's worse than trying to hide a rule 5 guy. He's a rule 6 guy.
  20. He hurts us on the bench aswell because it reduces our pinch hitting options.
  21. In other news...Trevor Rosenthal finally got an out and lowered his ERA from infinity to 72.00 after 5 appearances.
