I literally was about to say the other thing. Who in the hell wants to wear these ugly things?
Just wait until they announce these as the corresponding hats....

Maybe this is the whole deal -- Angelos said he's not paying for additional uniforms when the team already has lots of uniforms (and that it's inappropriate for MLB to tell him to do a City Connect uniform when he doesn't even live here), then backed off and said he'd spring for City Connect socks but not the rest.
Well I probably won't watch the game if all they wear are the city connect socks

Just take whatever wildcard’s average prediction is.
I thought it was his thread! Lol

You and me both. Only baseball would allow their players to miss their preseason to play in a pretend Tournament that nobody will remember three weeks later who won.
I mostly agree, but have to admit that I really enjoyed watching a couple games in person in Miami. The atmosphere was electric. I definitely don't like having it negatively affect the regular season though.

2) Cole Irvin is in the rotation. Its being handed to him. He does not have to earn it. I take it that its settled, Irvin will be in rotation on March 30 for the beginning of the season. His two seasons in the majors and the 180 IP are what seems to matter.
His 5.26 ERA outside the Oakland Coliseum does not. I remain skeptical he can hold the starting spot over Wells and Voth into May. But I protest too much. Time to sit back and watch what happens with Irvin.
Voth wasn't special before Baltimore. I'm excited to see if Irvin can also make some improvements all while piling up IP.

Don't hate it. Don't love it. It seems they're finally dipping into the MI surplus for trade ammunition.

Apparently 2 more prospects are going to the Twins as well
Nice move for Minnesota. I like Pablo. Would have loved to have added him for Urias or Mateo.

I'd be fine with it. It would be a great to see him healthy and pitching well again. I actually thought he had already signed with the Mets, but I guess that was just someone speculating.

I’m not surprised this guy made that prediction. Bradford Dolittle is the worst baseball name I’ve ever heard.
Dude probably talks to animals when he's not writing this crap.

Happy whatever it is to each and every one of yous.

Drew Smyly is an FA after declining his 10M option. he probably wants multiple years, but he's demonstrated health the last two years, and strikes out more batters than anyonr the Os will throw out besides Bradish
I've always been a fan of Smyly

Carlos Carrasco -- 32 starts
I'd love to add Cookie, but I doubt you get 32 starts. Technically, he's only done it once (2017), the only year he's reached 200 IP. That being said, he pitched fairly well last year and managed 29 starts and 152 innings.

Backup C is overrated when you have Adley.
I could be wrong, but I vaguely recall reading something about this upcoming season having more day games during the week. I think a decent backup catcher is even more valuable since you'll likely want to rest or DH Adley on day games following a night game.

I guess a lot of us (myself included) don't fully understand the meaning of it being a split contract.
Hmmm, this is what I read.

Why's everyone so up in arms over a minor league signing??

If he's likely to get the call at some point next season, I'd rather they give him a legitimate shot right out of the gate. give him a chance to earn the team the ROY bonus pick. I don't buy the "don't rush him" excuse.

I first thought of Mateo. A highly regarded amateur player with tools who hasn’t hit. First question. Isn’t he a slightly lesser version of Ryan McKenna but with maybe more upside? Second question. When is a player like this most likely to slip through waivers? Wouldn’t it be at the last minute when setting your 40-man roster before the rule 5? No team is going to claim Cameron and then risk losing him if and when they send him down next ST. It’s like a game of musical chairs. The last team to outright Cameron before the rule 5, can send him to AAA and see if they can unlock his potential.
If I’m reading fangraphs and baseball savant correctly, there are some positive signs between EV, sprint speed, xwoba, xslug, etc.
Mateo was my first thought, too. It'd be pretty cool if he turned into something useful in Baltimore. Not getting my hopes up, but I'd love to be surprised.
