Well if they wanted Henderson for Cease are we a better team if we deal Henderson for Cease and Westberg or Ortiz replace Henderson in the Lineup? So we Gain Cease and we open up an everyday spot in the lineup for either Ortiz or Westburg but we lose Henderson. I think I would be tempted but would want an extension on Cease.

If their ready to make Santander the full time DH, feel as if there's no longer a developmental benefit for Cowser being in AAA and he can get everyday playing time bring him up, but not simply just to replace Vavra and only play sparingly.

Stowers and Cowser replacing Vavra and Mckenna.

Elias signed multiple 4A types (e.g., O'Hearn and Lester) and there's speculation in this thread and many others about Westburg, Kjerstad, Mayo, etc. I don't think Mountcastle is going to get replaced anytime soon (as in the next few months). They will give him a chance to have some good luck and they will let the minor leaguers get more at bats. Plus they have O'Hearn on the ML roster and available for a platoon if they decide that will help boost production at 1B.
I looked up Kjerstad and was surpised to see he's played 43 innings at 1st. His most at position.

Elias is not going to trade for a first baseman (and he should be fired if he does!). The options are in the minors or already on the ML team.
Who would you suggest replace him?

If Mounty is struggling closer to the deadline who are if any realistic trade options at first base we could target?
-
has Mountcastle always leaned back in the batter box like that?

Wave it Bye Bye!!

Whether it's third or short I wish they'd pick a position and leave him there.

I would be looking to move Urias but it seems they would have done that by now. Maybe Westburg in a Big Deal?
What and/or who are you hoping to get back in return for a deal including Westburg?
-
My guess is Urias, but I doubt he brings back a quality ML ready Sp but instead a solid bullpen arm. If thats the best he can bring back do we make that trade or do we include a prospect or two like Stowers to bring back a better return?
-
I'm looking forward to watching G-Rod outduel Cease.
-
And we keep sending Voth out to pitch why??
-
Even more disgusting is that we traded someone away for this guy.
-
So many quality arms available via free agency this off season and this was what we came away with. Disgusting!!

Not sure I understand Gunnar batting cleanup with his struggles at the plate.
-
The ball is juiced, misjudging and dropping fly balls is unacceptable no matter what time of year it is, Adley will make a run at MVP this year, Gunnar has a great eye but I'd like to see him start barreling up some balls, Mateo might steal 100 bases, Stowers belongs in Norfolk or traded if he's not going to get to play, the 8 million dollar man is swinging a good stick, Hays and Mountcastle are looking like their going to have bounce back years, and the bull[en misses Tate and Givens.

Mckenna's gambling accounts need to be audited.

I might be way off here because the clock was in place last year in aaa but I think pitch clock was negatively affecting him. He looked frustrated/rushed. I think if he was able to step off the mound take some deep breathes to regain his composure it would of helped. The clock is the new norm and he and everyone will have to adjust.

I'm basing my opinion on how he has pitched since returning from his injury. I don't think it's a long-term problem, but why not let him work the kinks out in AAA and then promote him once he is firing on all cylinders?
I went back looked at his AAA numbers and let’s just say I found them be less than inspiring even before the injury. He was only able to get past the 7 th once and through five a couple times. The strikeouts were good but too many walks. The kids got great stuff but after his struggles last year and this spring it’s clear he has somethings to iron out.

I would like to see him prove that he can command his curveball and slider.
So are you saying that over the course of his professional career that he’s shown you that he can’t or are just basing it off what you’ve seen this spring?
-
G-rod has not impressed this spring but he has nothing left to prove in the minors and barring a injury should break camp with team.
-
Threw a lot of off speed stuff today. That must of been the plan. He Worked from behind a lot. He did strike out Correa but his stuff was not dominate. Hard line drive off glove hand was a little scary but he shook it off stayed in the game.

I fully expect them to sell the team but I can't imagine them doing so until after Peter's death. Doing so beforehand would cost millions in taxes.
What if Mateo and Urias are part of the future?

Mateo with is speed, defense and the way he is hitting right now is the most dynamic player in the organization and he getting paid 2 mil this year best value in all of baseball.. The earliest he is going anywhere is 2025. I don't see anyone in the organization that can do what he is doing on the field, basepaths and the plate.
Urias cheap and controllable but not as dynamic of a player as Mateo and I believe his production can be replaced and improved upon by Ortiz. I believe Urias will be dealt at the deadline in a pkg that might include Westburg for a starting pitcher.
