  1. I mentioned Diaz and Mountcastle, both of which you agreed with me on, how is that basing my opinion on two completely fringe roster types? Would you say that the O's were aggressive promoting anyone last year? Some experts thought that Hall's issues with command was exacerbated by his opposition being overwhelmed and refusing to swing. Doesn't that sound like someone that could have benefited from a promotion late in the year? I think Mr Sampson's take was worthy of criticism. I won't reciprocate in making a critique of your posting habits since that isn't fun for others.
  2. Are you paying attention? I wasn't suggesting that players won't sign with the O's because of Stewart. I'm saying that the expert was stating things that were completely at odds with how the farm was run last season. I'm not criticizing Elias.
  3. Those are the ones that I feel were held back. i also can't think of anyone that I would say was promoted aggressively. Hall and Rodriguez could have been pushed. Only reason Grenier got promoted was to make more room for Hall. I think it is flat out wrong to suggest that signing with the O's will fast-track an MLB career.
  4. Latest word is they aren't having a minor league season. No reason to finalize any cuts if that is the case.
  5. Sisco and Stewart could have made the team out of ST. Diaz. To me the only reason not to give Mountcastle a September callup last year was to game his clock.
  6. Do you think players in the minors are "moving fast" under Elias? Cause I don't see it. Yes I get that the O's are bad and have more holes at the ML level than good teams.
  7. "Rurchman" was only in rookie ball as a way of giving back to the farm teams. Do you really think the 1-1 polished college bat needed reps in rookie ball? He could have started his career in Advanced A. I think you are drawing all of this up out of thin air. Elias, thus far, has shown exactly the opposite traits this piece was expounding.
  8. Except Elias has shown a strong tendency toward slow promotions and gaming service time.
  9. They needed someone from their international efforts to be a prospect.
  10. I don't see how raising the level of play in college baseball should be an issue. I'd much rather kids not lose the scholarship they have already been offered to some professional.
  11. Comments like that make me wonder if the author has even been paying attention.
  12. Has anyone doubted that for even a second? Dan traded for Trumbo to replace Davis. It was clear where Dan stood on the issue.
  13. I can't shake the feeling that Elias wants the minor league teams to have good records.
  14. I'm embarrassed to say I don't recall if they have minor league games during labor lockouts. I'd assume they do just without guys on the 40.
  15. Sounds like the type of guy you don't want to slow roll through the farm system. Which makes me wonder why they have been slow rolling him.
  16. Don't need filler if you aren't having a season.
  17. I'm not at all surprised that Ripken gets to hang around.
  18. How many MLB owners count as self made billionaires?
  19. Probably, would be a mistake. Leveraging this for a small gain this year will just make a work stoppage more likely after 2021. Better to be magnanimous in victory.
  20. If they were getting paid why would they even consider playing for a prorated potion of their salary?
  21. Do you think he's playing minor league baseball because that is the only job he can get?
  22. He's got a degree from Dartmouth, he doesn't have to do this.
