Like others, I'm kind of wondering if this is real, or if they made him step in Ubaldo's Pothole for roster management purposes without burning his last option. He'd have to miss a start or two, but maybe they don't mind right now with the returning starting pitchers.
Plus he's only going to throw so many innings this year, may as well trim them early on than at the end I suppose.

If I were a major league pitcher, I'd have to have some sort of weird euphus or knuckleball or something like that for these at bats. If we get to 8, 9, 10 pitches, I'm throwing that thing, and this at bat is going to end, one way or another... I'm not pitching to you all night
