  1. I think so. They are really taking the replacing of Wainwright seriously! But I do think the rotation is Mikolas, Matz, Gray, Lynn, and Gibson. Very middling. Would have loved Gray for the O's though.
  2. Agreed, it's frustrating because Gray was a realistic target who, while not a huge difference maker, was a marked improvement over Gray. But can't wait to hear how we now have a full year of Means, and that is a free agent signing!
  3. Love your suggestions. But I agree, John Angelos is goin to soak in every ounce of good will from this season, tell us to "trust him" and continue being cheap. Expecting Kyle Gibson Part II and a Givens type reliever.
  4. This year's team is great on the road. It can be done. At least for one more night.. https://birdswatcher.com/posts/the-road-warrior-orioles-are-down-but-not-out-as-they-head-to-texas-01hca3j01czx
  5. I don't disagree with your overall post, but I think a strategy akin to what the Braves are doing extending your talented players while they are still relatively cheap, especially when they could be generational-type players (i.e. Henderson).
  6. LOL - my friend actually wrote an article about this last month. https://birdswatcher.com/posts/which-major-league-owner-does-john-angelos-best-compare-to-01h8zd25j1hz
  7. He just comes off as incredibly self-centered and truly only concerned about his bottom line and his bottom line alone.
  8. Another article with Forbes data concerning JA's comment that keeping the Orioles' core would require raising prices at OPACY https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bs-sp-orioles-prices-forbes-valuations-john-angelos-20230922-zmdcgsa3trbozmkzokkvy5gsau-story.html#ed=rss_www.baltimoresun.com/obf/rss Hoping they show him on the jumbotron at a playoff game and he gets a chorus of boos from 40-some thousand fans.
  9. Blaming Gunnar for going to the highest bidder, instead of our nitwit owner for not locking him up early like a smart team (the Braves would do) is a confusing take to say the least.
  10. Agreed. And aside from one really rough spell when they lost 4 in a row and 6 of 7, they have always been "playing well."
  11. Re Manny, I think the broadcasters will be allowed to mention him obviously, since we are playing the Padres, but won't be allowed to talk about him re: the Orioles. They will probably talk about him like they'd talk about Trent Grisham. Which of course is stupid and asinine, but that is what I expect w/r/t Machado next week.
  12. We have been over this. Angelos is dirtying up the Orioles, not the media or the fans. Angelos is the one who suspended Kevin Brown over nothing, not the fans or media. What is so hard to understand about this?
  13. LOLOL. You are literally the only person who thinks this. Everyone in the industry is calling Kevin Brown a true professional and saying he would have no problem finding work. He already does work for ESPN, calling basketball and baseball games. To blame Kevin Brown for this and cast aside any blame for Angelos is the definition of clueless and naive. You are CLEARLY posting here at the instruction of John Angelos, and doing a horrible job of hiding it. That is the only explanation for the absurdities of your posts - just as absurd as Angelos' behavior.
  14. Every word of this is correct and spot on.
  15. Exactly Hakuna. I've been saying it all season. The Orioles are in first place in spite of JA, not because of him. They are in first because of the incredible job of Hyde and his awesome coaching staff and players. And Elias.
  16. What about laying the blame at John Angelos' feet for giving the fans something to "bitch" about when the team is in first place. This is entirely, 100% a mess of ownership's own making.
  17. Yeeeeepppp. Makes you think JA may be posting in this thread...
  18. You are again showing you do not understand how journalism works. Journalists do not corroborate sources - that is how they keep them as sources...
  19. Yes. I am a sports fan, most sports fans are familiar with them.
  20. Getting there, but not yet. It is so freaking weird and petty, I think it is worthy of being a big story.
