  1. Ah okay, didn't see that. I want the Orioles to make a move and think they need to, but Elias certainly needs to show restraint to avoid trading away too many prospects for a mediocre upgrade.
  2. Nothing terribly impressive. Rojas has been worth -0.4 WAR. Don't know anything about Canzone or Bliss, except Canzone was the Diamondbacks 19th prospect, and Bliss the 29th.
  3. What were you referring to? Your post seemed to be responding to Greg's thread in general, not a specific post saying the Orioles should spend a lot of money.
  4. Oh I know that, wasn't suggesting you are. The poster you were quoting is very much against adding any payroll, even a little, and even when it makes sense. You and I are typically on the samge page.
  5. Interloper - that poster hates anything that even suggests the Orioles increasing their payroll by one penny. Even if it is a smart trade to acquire a starter than could help a team that badly needs pitching help.
  6. LOL. Making a trade for a starting pitcher from a ton of depth of position player prospects is spending like drunken sailors?
  7. Bowden with the latest on Snell (not that it is saying much) https://theathletic.com/4731818/2023/07/30/mlb-trade-deadline-storylines-players-rumors/?source=user_shared_article&access_token=13605285&redirected=1 if Snell is available, look for the Orioles and Reds to make big pushes to acquire him.
  8. I mean, Dipoto loves to trade so maybe just the thought of a 3 for 1 would excite him? In all seriousness, I see your points. I think since the Mariners are competing, they might not be as interested in prospects, but perhaps a 10-15 prospect from the O's on top of Hays/Urias/Irvin would make it work. One of many options the Orioles have, whether its the M's or another team. Should be an interesting few weeks.
  9. Nah, it would be in a world where they are lookin to upgrade their offense, and can do so with an All-Star in Hays and a second base upgrade in Urias over Wong. At worst, Urias can platoon with Wong at second. Both Hays and Urias still have some team control. As I said, the Orioles could throw in others, such as Cole Irvin, who has tons of team control and the Mariners may be interested in taking a flyer on. Brain dead? No? Lost grip of reality? No. But thanks for the comments!
  10. Bottom line: The Orioles social media team took a playful dig at the Mariners after our Felix saved a game against them. It's all in good fun, and for the Mariners to act so butt-hurt over it is ridiculous. If another team beat the Orioles, and their social media team called a player of theirs "Iron Man," I'd laugh it off as annoying and move on with my day. That is what the Mariners and their crybaby radio host should have done.
  11. Pathetic move by the Seattle DJ to a really nice, humble man in King Felix. Love all the trolling and people calling him King Felix even more now (as I did as well in the thread). Here is an article I wrote about Adley's night in the Derby, with a tongue in cheek reference to King Felix, because, well, "Softy" sucks. https://birdswatcher.com/posts/adley-rutschman-eliminated-in-first-round-of-home-run-derby-despite-standout-performance-01h518zxg6hm?fbclid=IwAR04i6u9TOkeoiaF8Nie-q3dUKfB5HkGrkuKP3A-U8VIOJNwMVdVN7oMo8w
  12. Unfortunately, i think you are right about Cowser. Could see him being optioned and they play it off like he had his "taste" of the majors and will be back.
  13. Urias and Hays for Gilbert? O's trade from a glut to a team looking for hitting, and add some pitching. See if they want Cole Irvin too and maybe get someone else back.
  14. Agreed. I am not against acquiring Giolito, but the number one pitchers mentioned are all really good, and probably better than Giolito.
  15. LOL - you're just trolling at this point.
  16. What do you mean "why?" Because it's a message board, trades are interesting, the Orioles should be buyers, the deadline is 3 weeks away... do you really need that question answered?
  17. A few things. First of all, I have been immensely enjoying the ride so far through 65 games, and hope it continues. I think it will. But there are always ways the team can improve, whether it is player personnel, ownership decisions, managerial decisions, etc. Perhaps since the team is doing so well, posters are going through the Orioles' decisions with a more fine toothed comb than usual, since it appears that each game might truly matter this year as to when and whether the Orioles make the playoffs.
  18. The hope that Mountcastle can turn it around in a new environment and start matching his minor league numbers, plus his team control versus Goldschmidt only being under control for 1.5 more years. This trade is conditioned on the Cardinals continuing their losing ways and according to mlbtravevalues.com, it actually kind of favored the Cardinals. Here is the link to my story for you all to hate on https://birdswatcher.com/posts/impact-bats-that-could-intrigue-the-baltimore-orioles-on-the-trade-market-01h276zfa8be Mercy reminder: I do this on the side and am not a professional baseball writer. Be kind
