I have never gotten into Caress of Steel much, or at all. You win, you are a bigger Rush fan than I am... I say this with admiration.

I guess when I said the proper "gateway" I meant not the first album you are going to hear. Pretty much everyone older than 45 has heard the hits on Moving Pictures. I was assuming that. Sure, if someone has _never_ (!) heard Rush before, you give them "Moving Pictures". They would be in for a treat if they never heard it before.

Moving Pictures contains the radio hits. Don't get me wrong, it's a great album, I listen to it. But "2112" is Rush's first great album. Neil Peart's drumming and lyrics are at his finest.

That could be worth real money... 2112 is the right gateway into Rush, trust me.
