  1. At least the Tigers (who we did beat 6 out of 7 even though we struggled) have a winning record when not playing us or Tampa.
  2. Everything is smoked by their offense. I mean it's like every contact they make is very hard contact...a lot of them fouls.
  3. I'll ask again...what happened to the hitting for us? I know they scored 8, but geez. They're totally MIA.
  4. Maybe it's just a team slump starting with playing a bad team....bad time for it though....hitting not responsible for this but they all of a sudden look lost.
  5. Is it just me...or does Baker look incapable of missing this guy's bat????
  6. Worst team in the league and they beat us two of three...ghosts of 2014 have come back.
  7. In fairness...nobody has stopped their bats all year...I mean Ruth and Gehrig are rolling in their graves that these men in blue will break all of their offensive records. Was hoping for a blowout today...if it happens it's the other direction.
  8. This offense is so Jekyll and Hyde (not Brandon) even within a game. Shutout by a has-been Greinke/Royals bullpen (that isn't 2014). Now, we're hot and back to cold.
  9. Whoops...Ortiz at 3b! Looks like it's too late to change.
  10. My stab at tonight's lineup: 1. Hays RF 2. Rutschman DH 3. Mountcastle 1B 4. Santander LF 5. McCann C 6. Mateo SS 7. Urias 2B 8. Mullins CF 9. Ortiz 3B I feel like McCann has to be in based on his homer against Wentz.
  11. I agree that a big season will increase attendance the next year, but it felt like in 2012 we recovered much more quickly though it still wasn't great attendance. According to BBREF, we increased by 350K from 2011. Will we see anything comparable this year? I think the economics you mentioned are the main reasons as to possibly why it won't happen that way. Of course, 2022 was just simply a winning season and not a playoff year like 2012 was, so not necessarily a fair comparison.
  12. Today was some kind of Little League and Softball day (I guess to be politically correct) for the kids. I think that may explain the sudden spike. Plus fairly decent weather for the start of the game. You are correct about the Saturday night against Pitt last year. It was a concert and I think some old rapper or something. It was also when we were playing well.
  13. This just in (very reactionary)...we aren't very good. I know you can't base anything on one series, but the hitting is inconsistent and most of the pitching is useless. Some parts of the BP are pretty good, one good starter for now and a couple of fast guys who will steal a lot. But in this division it looks like back to the cellar.
  14. It's hard for me to envision a win. Hate to be negative. It reminds of when the Tigers swept us in 2003 at home. Difference is we were bad then too.
  15. Ummm...this guy looks like he doesn't belong in this series...pitches that can't be hit??? Where are his hanging breaking pitches?
