  1. There is only one trade deadline now and it has passed.
  2. Sports Illistrated has non-bikin related articles? Since when? ??
  3. If this team is competing in 2022, I dont think that's hopeless at all.
  4. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2019/08/13/despite-the-rumors-orioles-will-almost-assuredly-remain-in-baltimore/amp/ Here's a pretty good article explaining the steps needed and why I move isn't likely.
  5. Does his decision to not use Mayflower affect you? He has his reasoning for it. That's his choice.
  6. Much of Rutschman's allure is that he's already a polished Catcher. Who knows if the bat will translate...see Matt Wieters.
  7. That thought crossed my mind too. Not a good season to truly evaluate players.
  8. Very true. And if Severino continues to hit, he will get paid above backup pay. Obviously Rutschman is the future. I'd sell high on Severino.
  9. But the backup is usually more of a defensive type. Neither Severino or Cisco is really known for that.
  10. You could also make a case for Severino. .279/.345/.477/.823 Though I guess drafting Rutschman kinda takes him out of the equation. I wonder what kind of trade value Severino will have this winter if he finishes strong.
  11. If he becomes that kind of player, I would hope the team has learnt from past mistakes, and would have extended before he gets to his age 30 and 31 seasons.
  12. So he has a worst shot getting hurt in MLB then he does in the minors? Some guys are just broken. If hes not going to stay healthy, it doesn't matter what level hes at.
  13. At 24, why worry about service time. You'll have him under control until he's 30. That's his prime years. If he deserves a look, why not. He earned a spot out of ST. I know a player will say all of the right things, but a some point it sends a negative message if you keep them down imo.
  14. Hays already has MLB experience. He's already 24. I don't see how letting him finish out the year in AAA would be a better scenario, than letting him gain some more MLB experience. Let's see what hes got.
  15. I voted indifferent. Other than maybe Means, I don't see anyone that figures into the longterm success of the team. It's wait and see with the minor league guys. I was happy with the draft and getting into the international market. It's basically wait and see for me at this point.
  16. Bundy looked good. Was hitting 93 on the gun. Palmer noted he seems to be regaining some velocity. He had to learn to use his secondary pitches. If he regains a little more velocity, he could be really good. Maybe he has a year over the next 2 that they can get a haul for him.
  17. That doesnt solve the logjam at first. And if Mountcastle is capable at 2b, it would be foolish not to try it.
  18. He came up a SS/3B, it's not like it's foreign territory. And who said he can't work on it before he's promoted. I never said promote him then stick him at 2B. Just because I said put Villar at SS and Mountcastle at 2B, doesn't mean right away. I doubt the Orioles are trading Villar.
  19. Melewski said the knock on Mountcastle is mostly his arm. He makes the routine plays. 2B would hide the arm some, as long as he's not a complete butcher. Especially if his bat plays.
  20. Is playing 2b that much more dramatic than SS or even 3B for that matter. Did Manny play much 3B in the minors?
  21. What does Martin do well that impresses anyone within the organization? His glove hasn't been nearly as good as advertised, he doesn't hit well enough to cover up anything less than spectacular defense. I hear Mountcastle makes plays, he just doesn't have a 3B or SS arm. Can't Villar play SS and try Mountcastle at 2B? Is that a realistic option?
  22. Every time I take time to watch the O's this year, they can't hit their way out of a wet paper bag.
  23. Chris Archer isn't much if any better than Gausman, and they got Glasnow for him. The Orioles wasted if not a great, atleast a good SP in a pitching starved market to save money on O'day. It was a bad trade no matter how you slice it.
