  1. I'm happy for him, but Santana just missed a pretty fat pitch and then Austin Hays had to make a great play to prevent an XBH.
  2. Aaaaand it's Krehbiel. What on earth.
  3. Hyde said today that Tyler Wells is going to be limited due to throwing 95 pitches in his last start. I guess if that was known it makes sense to save Akin to piggyback Wells tonight, although we've seen Akin be less effective pitching on extended rest.
  4. Big time brawl in the Mariners-Angels game. Unfortunately the suspensions for Seattle will probably come too late to help the O's.
  5. Bumping this thread because I'm confused by what his role is. He last pitched Tuesday relieving Lyles where he went 2.2 IP with 3 K and one hit that was kind of a flukey home run (341 ft). Then he doesn't get into the bullpen game Friday? He doesn't relieve a shaky Lyles again even though it's regular rest? Is Hyde saving him in case Voth or Watkins melt down next week? Why not just stretch him out and put him in the rotation, then? A bulk innings guy with a 2.53 ERA seems like a luxury you can enjoy when you have five real starting pitchers, which the Orioles currently do not.
  6. On a day like this you couldn't ask for much more than for your best hitter to come up as the tying run. Oh well.
  7. Tying run coming up and it's the right part of the lineup.
  8. O's aren't going to stretch out Akin to the rotation, not going to use him today, what is he for?
  9. White Sox still have their closer on the DL. Scratch out a run here and try to win it late.
  10. Yankees hitless again, that's 14 straight innings without a hit.
  11. Umps now just hazing Adley Rutschman? What the hell was that call?
  12. Could be a long day if Cease keeps this up. Sox unis look sharp, though.
  13. They had already started giving out a Cy Young for each league by '79 so Flanagan and Richard weren't in competition. Ron Guidry, Nolan Ryan, Tommy John, and Scott McGregor would have been the other ones in the AL with an argument for Cy.
  14. Shawn Armstrong somehow still a major leaguer, still stinks, gives up a walkoff dong in Yankee Stadium.
