  1. I guess nobody wants to hear that Zach Pop threw a scoreless inning with 2 Ks tonight.
  2. The most disappointing Oriole of 2021. More than Mountcastle.
  3. At least Aroldis Chapman finally blew a save.
  4. Given how baseball is played in 2021, this has never meant less.
  5. Would have thought a five run lead was Valdez proof but now I'm not sure.
  6. Guilty as charged, and I withdraw my previous opinion.
  7. The game could use a little Bill Veeck.
  8. As a September callup when the team is 35 games out of first place and looking to steal a headline away from the Ravens, sure, why not. Give him an at bat or two.
  9. Gunnar Henderson is tearing it up. Even if he moves to 3B there's Westburg.
  10. It wasn't me, I don't have the power to give upvotes/downvotes.
  11. John Means lowers his ERA, still has a perfect record, I don't know what else you could want in this year of 2021.
  12. The save Valdez blew against Boston in their first series at OPACY was more irritating, IMO.
  13. Valdez gave up a ground ball that our "glove first" third baseman misplayed, a ground ball that got through because Mancini was holding the runner, a soft fly ball and another ground ball. When your closer isn't Aroldis Chapman and your IF and catcher defense is questionable these games will happen.
  14. Hard to drop a lazy fly ball between Mullins and Hays. Valdez pretty unlucky.
  15. Valdez might blow this, but whatever. Valdez as closer is a cute gimmick, but I'm more concerned about Tanner Scott not getting lefties out.
  16. Means will probably get pinch hit for if Ruiz or Severino don't hit into a DP.
  17. I thought Pillar was going to burn us for sure. He always seemed to do damage when he was on the Blue Jays.
  18. KC in danger of losing their ninth straight. Trailing Detroit(!) 4-0.
  19. Bundy has a 5.03 ERA and hasn't had half his games against the Yankees and Red Sox.
  20. I've always thought that was a weird strategy. Marwin Gonzalez has a .331 OBP and Verdugo has a .362 OBP. Based purely on those numbers, the chances of Kremer retiring both is less than 50-50. If leaving Kremer in means a *greater* than 50% chance that Plutko is going to have to come in with at least one basereunner and less than two outs, why not just give him the clean inning.
  21. Making Kremer learn how to get through the later innings is something that would have made sense ten years ago, but I wonder if it's true anymore. If Dean Kremer is what we think, basically a guy whose upside is like a fourth starter, is he going to be routinely asked to go deep into games, barring rule changes concerning the number of pitchers on the roster? The Rays are the team a lot of us want to emulate, and I don't think Team Kevin Cash would hesitate to pull a guy after five strong innings if the top of the order for a dangerous offense was due up in the sixth. Shane McLanahan has been pulled after four innings in each of his starts this year.
  22. How many times this year have the Orioles lost a game that would have brought them to .500? It's at least six, right?
