  1. Let me throw this out there for consideration.  Keegan Akin has been "lights out" from spring training thru this first couple weeks of the season.  Dude came up thru the minors as a starter.  Is it so farfetched that he can't return to being a starter?  Or should we leave well enough alone?  Just a thought...

  2. Didn't Elias proclaim this off-season that Holliday would be given an opportunity to prove he belongs on the Opening Day roster?   Looks to me like he's meeting and possibly exceeding   his burden of proof so far this spring.   I'm hoping Elias is true to his word.  I'd like to see our best players on the field from game one.

I want 300 pages about Roch's streak and why he didn't post. I have the utmost confidence in all of you. Get her done.

How will I  make it without this, that and the other and his mailbag about nothing.

Don't forget the always thrilling Leftovers for Breakfast.  😂

  4. Yes, I'm celebrating tonight!  A good cigar and a pint of old man Kesslers!  A word of caution though, don't expect the new owners to immediately start throwing money around like a drunken sailor at a strip club.

I feel encouraged that they may well bring the O's payroll up to a respectable level.  But I hope and expect they will be cautious with their investments.  Just my opinion...

  5. I like both players.  I just can't see trading a #2 overall pick (Kjerstad) when he's just breaking into the majors.  His bat seems "tailor made" for that short right porch at Camden Yards.  I also think he could play a serviceable defense in right field.  Just my opinion.

  6. Dude can really throw the ball hard,  but he's gotta find the strike zone.  Also, not seeing much movement on his pitches.  Batters at this level can hit 100mph center-cut fastballs all day long.  With that being said, there's a lot there to work with.  I guess we'll find out pretty soon if Elias and Sig really do have a "secret sauce" for pitchers.

  7. Man, this dude can flat-out hit the baseball!  Before everyone starts "piling on" to call me crazy, may I refresh your memories that Felix Bautista made the jump from A+ ball to Opening Day roster in 2022.

Taken together, his MVP from the Arizona Fall League and his electric Spring Training says to me this dude is ready for "the show".  Triple slash of 400/429/850.

I realize it's not gonna happen, but after what he's been through wouldn't it be great?

I see Duquette as a mixed bag, neither all good nor all bad.  I do find it interesting that, despite having some success in his various stops, he went 9 years without a job in MLB after Boston fired him, and he’s been unable to land another position in the 4+ years since being fired by the Orioles.  That suggests he’s not the easiest guy to work with, regardless of whatever other merits he has.  At this point, I think time probably has passed him by.

    This exactly!
