  1. Lot of good discussion in this thread.  It seems as though the discussion has focused more on "rebuild mode" than "sell mode".  As the original poster, I just still have a "worrisome" feeling that the Orioles are not long for Baltimore.  Are the Angelos sons really that committed to the city?   I'm just asking?

  3. I hope Elias and Sig aren't outsmarting themselves.  I would like to see a better product on the field this season.  I don't see how adding a couple of "decent" free agents can harm the rebuild.  Can it?  Or are we keeping payroll down and not tying the franchise to a long-term stadium lease signs of something else?

  4. It's sorta "stadiums be damned".  MLB obviously gave us the "middle finger" a couple years ago when it was our time to host the All-Star game.  It seems to me as though MLB and the Orioles ownership don't have a very good relationship.  Just my opinion.

  5. Just asking.  How committed are the Angelos brothers to the city of Baltimore?

Why have we not yet seen a new lease for Camden Yards?

Why are we projected (by Sportrac) to have the 29th lowest team payroll for 2021?

Why are we looking dead-eyed into yet another 100+ loss season?

Are we on the brink of losing another Major sports franchise?

    Just asking.

Hard to imagine Fenter staying with the Cubs all year.  Would they really keep a guy on their 26 man roster that hasn't pitched in High-A yet?

I'll bet we get him back.   And I'll bet Pop is gone, Dbacks will find a way to keep him.

I hope we get both of these guys back.  I'm a big fan of both Pop and Fenter.  Both guys have gone through TJ surgery and they each had "electric" arms.  I guess the "had" part of the equation is what caused them to be left unprotected.

The 20 round minimum length was part of the same agreement in March that limited the 2020 draft to a minimum of 5 rounds (which MLB ultimately set at 5 rounds). That isn't to say that the Union wouldn't screw over amateur players once again by agreeing to additional cuts, but that is where we are right now.

You are correct.  Bottom line is though, that MLB has yet to make an official announcement concerning the 2021 draft.  Don't really expect an announcement anytime soon.  You might say the situation is "fluid".
