1. Not the quote I was looking for but here is Duquette on Santader from last December, following the Rule 5 draft: http://www.masnsports.com/steve-melewski/2016/12/dan-duquette-on-the-orioles-two-rule-5-selections.html
 2. OK. Can you tell us more about what you have seen? Details?
 3. I read someone who compared his swing to Victor Martinez's.
 4. Hughes just had thoracic outlet syndrome revision surgery for the second time in 14 months. Nolasco looks like we would be yearning for the days of Ubaldo and Wade Miley. I do like the idea someone floated of Samardzija. The Giants have said they need a "bopper" in their lineup. “We really need a big bopper in that lineup,’’ (Manager Bruce) Bochy says, “just to take the pressure off everybody else.’’ I'd pay 70% of Trumbo's salary if they'd trade Ty Blach. Hell, i might even take on Matt Moore, just to clear Trumbo's deadweight (He is deadweight on the Orioles, at least, though not on every other team). At least they could buyout Moore in 2018 and/or 2019.
 5. I am seeing equal righty/lefty splits for Santander. Where are you finding a difference?
 6. Of course, some times it turns out to be more than frowning: So what did the Phillies get for their trouble? The Cubs' 1st round pick in the 2013 Rule V draft.
 7. The Orioles would not be the only team deserving to be frowned upon. Take Atlanta, for example. The Braves drafted pitcher Dan Winkler in December, 2014 from Colorado. Winkler had received Tommy John surgery five months earlier, so everyone knew at the time of the draft that his timetable to return was expected to be somewhere around July, 2016 on a minor-league rehab stint. He ended up not making it to the Braves until September (those games counted towards his 90 days). The Atlanta brass knew exactly what they were doing when they drafted Winkler: working within the constructs of the rules regardless of how shady it may seem to some.
 8. September games absolutely DO COUNT for Rule V acquisitions. 100%.

 10. It would... But since they are actually 12-8, the Orioles project to 97 wins at their current pace.
 11.

Really?! I will get it a shot and let you know. Any tricks i need to be aware of?

Wondering if cricfree.xs is still up and running. Or have you found a better site? For whatever reason, I can't watch it from my tablet, even using the adblock browser. T require that I create an account with a credit card, which i am wary of. Have you found a way around the problem of having to create an account?

 15.

hey baldimorehon,

sorry to comment on your poll. i didn't mean it personally. a lot of people have done similar things, so it's not just you. someone posted a poll thread about who the opening day secondbaseman would be but asked the poll question "who will have the best season" of schoop, cabrera and everth. it's great to see poll results and find out what the oh crew is thinking. sometimes, though, i think people can be confused when they respond. and that skews the poll results -- which sort of invalidates it all.

hope you'll accept my apology. All the best!
