  2. I don't see him coming up this year. Could he help them with defense and late at bats? Possibly. He could continue his tear, or he could pull a David Washington. But, even if he comes up and goes on a rampage, his presence alone won't win the World Series. Now, next season with several other pieces and hopefully a better rotation...
  3. Sedlock has been shut down for the season with a forearm issue. Will be assigned to the Instructional League in mid September, along with Keegan Akin.
  4. You get more pitchers with MLB experience in AAA, even if they are AAAA guys.
  5. He's been facing all Double A pitching. Never saw Triple A with better arms. Probably needs some time.
  6. Santander with his second home run of the game. Solo shot this time.
  7. Just launched a 2 run home run in the first. Flash was on base at the time.
  8. Lifted in the 4th with 2 outs and a runner on. 69 pitches total. Giggity.
  9. Struggling today. 3 innings so far, 5 hits, 3 runs (2 home runs), 1 walk, 2 strike outs, 55 pitches.
  10. Switch hitter with power from both sides, but seems better from the left for now. Has a good and accurate arm in the outfield. Isn't a speedster, just a hulking, powerful corner outfielder.
  11. Let him get his rehab, call him up for Gentry's spot, send him to the AFL and go from there.
  12. Good to hear. 30 isn't much of anything, but a good start. Glad they didn't mention him feeling any pain, so hopefully he avoided any imminent damage.
  13. I guess it depends on how bad of a strain. A very, very minor strain could heal on its own with rest while a more worse strain would need surgery due to the tear being larger.
  14. He had an EXTREMELY rough night. Didn't get out of the 4th. 3.2 IP, 11 hits, 5 runs (all earned), 2 walks, 3 strikes outs, 1 home run. Had 91 pitches in that time (!!!) and 57 were strikes. He exited after loading the bases. Very, VERY rough.
  15. Yep. For some reason, they gave Jesus Liranzo the start and only had him go 3. I guess after all the saves he blew and all the late inning struggles he had, they'd try him as a starter again and had Barker be the "second half," ala Miguel Castro was for Tanner Scott.
  16. He was having trouble finding the zone. His breaking ball was biting really good though, but his fastball didn't seem to have much zip on it.
  17. It's also one that is coming off him taking time off for a family situation and this doesn't appear to be his normal routine (atleast, we all hope not.) Then again, he would fit right in with the starting rotation right now.
  18. Working on finding out. He was scheduled to start tomorrow.
  19. I wouldn't. He skipped Delmarva and didn't pitch much in Aberdeen. There is no real tape or report on him. Let him stay in Frederick for the season. Let him face the same teams 3 or 4 times and see if they figure him out. If he still has the same success all season, then Bowie next year. If he gets knocked around a little, then good. See how he bounces back.
  20. He had 1 bad season, then missed a second due to his back getting repaired. Give him another season at the plate while fully repaired. If he hits, great. If not, turn him into Mychael Givens, by all means.
  21. So...Elam could play catcher for the Orioles? Ok, not my best comparison. But I'd be very cautious with a player that has 4 surgeries on the major parts that are essential to his position. With a very good arm, maybe he can help with some outfielding. I just wouldn't keep him as a catcher and break his body down even further.
