  1. I would rather have him than Dwight Smith Jr and DJ Stewart.
  2. Or atleast brought him up for his debut against the Red Sox in Boston.
  3. It’s not “how I choose to view it.” It’s how it happened. I’m not saying the whole thing is tainted because of it, but that is the origin story of it. To say it wasn’t about disrespect when there were clear acts of disrespect shown is asinine. Yes, it was worked out well for the (recent) majority who joined in. But the entire clown show that started it did nothing to help.
  4. I mean, when the pro athlete that first did it and got huge recognition for it, after losing his starting spot to a career journeyman and who was in the verge of being cut from his team anyway, he maintained his stance by wearing a Fidel Castro shirt and then socks with pigs in police uniforms. Very respectful overall.
  5. As a retired police officer, who worked front and center during the Freddie Grey riots and who dealt with racial issues daily based on the locations I mainly worked at, I want to thank your son for his service out there now. As for the rest of your thoughts, I can see where you are going with it. Not that my opinion truly matters in the end, but definitely sleep on it. Baseball, while it looks like it “chose” a side, did the least possible out of the three “major” sports. They aren’t putting written messages on their jerseys, fields, ect. Players didn’t speak up as much on social media as other sports and the one player who tends to turn everything political, didn’t opt out of the season, despite all of his whining. The predominant support of the factions you are referring to isn’t prevalent in baseball. Soccer has been more politically aligned. Unfortunately, I never got to serve under the flag like you did, so I might not feel the same way about it as you. I don’t like the kneeling either, but my stance has softened a bit about it. I still think the origins behind the reason for it are totally suspect (that can be a discussion for another time, if interested) and I still think it is not the best way, considering the circumstances behind the reason things hit a boiling point so far, but I will take it over the host of other stuff other leagues are not only allowing, but encouraging. This is a great site and the members are what makes it the way it is. There is a line on here that isn’t crossed. After possibly spending all day being inundated by news and opinions, coming here is great. I can see why it seems bad when the sport you love seems to cross that line, but in the end, did they not only step over the line, but spit on it, or straddle the line?
  6. I just checked. They can be placed on a “special” list that does not have them count against the 60. Didn’t mention anything about the 40 though.
  7. Taylor Davis isn’t on the 40. I thought I heard or read that the Covid DL creates an open 40 spot? Or am I wrong?
  8. Looks like he jammed his leg when he planted to reach back for the throw, but seemed ok.
  9. That...That pitch had a LOT of break on it. Geez.
  10. Yeah, they made that play a lot closer than it seemed like it would be. Hess is missing the target horribly here. I don’t think he has hit Wynns target more than twice.
  11. Stevie threw a top speed of 55 mph. Seemed to mess with the timing pretty well.
  12. Maybe they don’t consider Sisco as a good option behind the plate? Or, incase something like what happened in Kansas City happens where the starter and backup test positive.
  13. Precautionary? Especially after Martin didn’t know he had a broken wrist until he tried to throw a ball. He isn’t on the 40, so he won’t have to be on the IL.
  14. Atleast he had his pitchers warmed up before he brought them in.
  15. Also, don’t forget, Wynns, Urias, and Valdez are the ones that can be DFA’ed if they need room in the 40. They are currently at 39. JMO.
  16. I think to start, they will. Just a matter of Wynns or Holoday, probably. I wonder if they see him as someone that can be an “opener,” spot start, or long man role?
  17. Hays was also injured today. Said to be only “slight swelling and bruising” though in his left knee (hit by pitch.)
  18. I’m assuming him being healthy while two other players at his position were not could influence that.
  19. Means will not start versus the Phillies. Dealing with a “dead arm.”
  20. Swap Alberto for Wilkerson if they are facing a righty and I agree with the rest.
