Hypothetically- who gets Grayson’s spot in the rotation? Baumann looks like he’s found a role in the bullpen? Do they go back to Voth?

Grayson starts almost always guarantee the bullpen getting taxed. Even if he is pitching well it’s 5 innings due to a high pitch count. It’s almost like we need to pair his start up with a long reliever

Call me crazy but I have not seen Santander play enough at 1B to bring him into this conversation. Defensively, Urias is too valuable to leave on the bench but will he hit well enough once he's back to warrant a starting job? Henderson has started to look better at the plate as of late. The strikeouts are my biggest concern with him. He has some Mark Reynolds in him at this stage in his career. Mateo is too valuable at SS to not be the everyday guy. Vs. RHP 1B- Mountcastle/ O'Hearn 2B-Frazier SS- Mateo 3B- Henderson Vs. LHP 1B- Mountcastle 2B- Frazier SS- Mateo 3B Urias

So Stowers or O'Hearn getting sent down to make room for a 3rd catcher? McKenna still being on this team still befuddles me.

If you're going to pinch hit for Stowers (which I don't agree with), why in the world would it be McKenna instead of Hays?

I think that last sentence is unfair. At the end of the day, this roster was good enough for 4th place in the division. We can argue about how tough it is in the AL East compared to other divisions but that gets us nowhere. Elias is trying to build us into perennial contender. You don't do that by making short-sided moves that may get into the playoffs as the 2nd or 3rd WC team. You can't sell the farm to add a player or 2 when you are multiple players away. Mancini was a FA to be at the end of the season. Lopez's value was never gonna be higher. Sometimes the moves that make the most sense are also the toughest.

These are HUGE games no doubt. But there are 25 games remaining after this series. Every game going forward is equally important. If we were to take 3 out 4 or even get the 4 game sweep, it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme. Gotta play well in those last 25 or it won't matter. Take it day by day... gonna be a fun month of baseball!

What are the odds that Tyler Wells is built back up in the minors and put back in the rotation in Watkins' spot? With DL Hall and Atkins, you could pair one of the up with him.

I've been to 3 games this year and will be going to the Astros game on the 24th. I live in DE and am a high school football coach, so with summer workouts and 7v7 games, I don't have a ton of available night. The one thing I have noticed is that some of the rows have less leg room than others. I sat in section 24 last month and had to sit almost sideways. I am 6'2. I'm hoping the bigger crowds will continue. Makes the atmosphere so much better.

Why Kreihbel gets the 8th, I'll never know...
