  1. I get that you are disappointed/upset about the loss tonight. But you do realize that there are ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN games left in the season? There is plenty of time to fix/change all that ails us. Despite tonight's loss, we are going to have a great team that will probably win over 100 games. But I agree that the team stunk overall tonight.
  2. Uh... no thanks. As good of a reliever as Miller appears to be, if we consider trading Mayo (which I hope that we do not) it has to be for more than a closer who we will only need for this season.
  3. Kimbrel has been good for the most part until he lost total command of the zone tonight. His problems are brought on from over use. We can pitch him with nearly the frequency that we did Bautista. That's why the other parts of the pen have to get/be better. Because Wednesdays 6-0 game that turned into a 6-5 nail bitter was a game that he should have never had to come in to.
  4. Do we need to pay that high of a price, when the need is only really for this year? And you know an arm injury with those types of guys is almost inevitable. Bautista will be back next year. I would hate to give up a lot even for an uber talent like Miller.
  5. Miller appears to be like Bautista in that if he is on his game, the person with the bat in their hand (regardless of who it is) is pretty powerless.
  6. 102 is different. We see it all the time with Bautista. Unless guys like that miss and throw it center cut or right into the bat path, you really don't have much of a chance.
  7. I don't think Miller needs to pitch around anyone. Not even someone as good as Gunnar.
  8. Man! That Miller is impressive. He's like Felix Bautista throwing pure gas.
  9. I don’t think Mateo hits righties at an acceptable enough level to be set as a starter.
  10. I think it may be a stretch to say that Means in 2024 given his injury history over the last 2+ years and his ineffectiveness at AAA, “should be very good” even for a #5. I guess you may say he “could” be a a very good number 5. But I think things are very iffy as far as he is concerned. Hopefully, he is effective, but it’s far from a given.
  11. Not IMO because they are all around the same, you will probably get similar results any way you go. There’s no big risk in substituting one with another (bullpen arm for bullpen arm, starter for starter). I just don’t think any of them are effective enough to really lose any sleep over.
  12. Yes. My apologies for omitting him. He is a solid back of the rotation starter IMO.
  13. Looks as if some of you got your wish. As much as I love Holliday, the talent, I can't say I'm surprised by this. He will be fine in the long run.
  14. That's the great thing about this message board! We are free to disagree and that's fine.
