Other than the good eye he seems overmatched right now. Is not hitting breaking pitches nor heat on the corner. Which to be fair most people dont, but most arent the #1 prospect in the sport.

When I was in Iraq I knew a guy who was the M60 Gunner. FYI the machine gunners are the most badass guys in the entire Army. Most are about 6'3" 200 pounds of absolute steel. Anyways, there was a dude about 5'8" 150 pounds soaking wet. Nobody thought he would hold up with the M60. But he had the heart of a lion. Huge heart inside him. That is Spenser Watkins. Heart for days. He is a clubhouse glue guy.

Its easy to have good command in the minors when all you have to do is rear back and throw 98 straight down the pike. That wont fly in the MLB.

I'm not very well versed in framing stats. Hope he starts framing better the pitchers could use it.

Ideally he would be a spot starter, maybe a 5th starter at best. Hell, if we were an elite pitching team no way hes on even on the team. But right now we have serious issues with starting pitching. At least hes not out there making a total idiot of himself who has no idea where the ball is going. He can give you innings and keep the game in reach.

Only 13 games in so very small sample size, but I wonder why Adleys defensive numbers arent so good to start the year.

I am Spenser Watkins fan. This is a guy who clearly does not have MLB caliber stuff. He doesnt belong in the majors. But he is a crafty guy. He knows how to pitch and hit his spots. He understands pitching. What I like about Watkins is I feel like he can usually give us a chance to actually win the game. He is usually good for about 5 or 6 innings and 3 runs. Hes a guy who should be a 5th starter, but we need him now. Everybody except Gibby is getting SHELLED. We got to stop getting shelled.
