  1. You don't get thrown out with Adley on deck. No.
  2. I like Gibby, never going to be a dominant pitcher because he just doesn't have the raw stuff, but is a solid dependable veteran who understands how to pitch.
  3. We basically make Catcher an automatic out when Adley DHs.
  4. It's reaching a point where if he isn't bench or put on the IL within a next few days then Hyde needs to take some heat. Bench this man.
  5. If you offload meh you get meh in return. I want a #2 starter. That will take something quality.
  6. That's right. I forgot this his 2nd place ROY finish changes things. Well the lost year of team control does change the calculations and implications a little bit. Still got basically 2 entire years left of Adley pre arb left though. This is definitely something to think about but, for the time being he's a cheap Orioles player.
  7. Yep, his bat plays anywhere. And he's got old man skills as a young man. His eye is elite and he's got some pop too.
  8. True. It is Saturday morning and it's my day off. I'm absolutely loaded on coffee right now and amped. Mind and body is going 100 right now. About to head down to the basement and get this workout in. Start pumping some serious iron.
  9. Calling for rain tomorrow in Chicago. Cease is scheduled to start tomorrow. A rainout and missing Cease wouldn't be too bad.
  10. Signing Adley long term is not a concern at the moment. He's not even arb eligible until 2026. He is under team control through the 2028 season. He will be free agent going into his age 31 season. Just like Aaron Judge did. Machado is about to turn 31 now. Think about that. I don't have a fear of players in their early to mid 30s with good track records who are professionals who stay in shape and focus on their craft. But here is the thing. Guys like Manny and Judge are corner infielders and outfielders. Their knees aren't taking a pounding. They last a long ass time. Adley's gonna have a lot of miles on those knees in his 30s. Catchers age terribly. So, for now, I'm enjoying the Adley ride and not worrying too much about a 31 plus year old Adley.
  11. Elias is the boss and all decisions ultimately go through him. I'm not even an Elias hater. The organization is fairly healthy right now with his steering the ship. But I still would trade these surplus infielders for some pitching, but that's just me and I ain't getting paid the big bucks. So we will see what happens.
  12. What is the plan here? Mateo is a free agent in 2026. So let him play out his arb years and keep paying him more and more money? Is Mateo the future long term solution at SS? Is Mateo the Orioles shortstop for the next 7-8 years? If so are we going to sign him long term? What are we doing with Urias? He's a gold glover at 3B and cannot even get regular starts at 3B. The #1 prospect in baseball is being bounced around like a pinball machine. Frazier is making $8 million dollars and not to ride the bench. Even Vavra is showing a little bit of juice. Then of course Holliday ETA is 2025 or even late 2024. So, I'm bashing Elias, I just want an answer from him. What are we doing? What is the actual plan here besides complete chaos every night with lineup and position shuffling.
  13. OBP is probably the single most important hitting stat there is. There are 27 outs. Making an out is very bad. Not making an out is very good. Baseball at it's core is about protecting outs.
  14. That come from behind win last night was huge to go up +2. We have to face Cease on Sunday to close out the White Sox series. Not saying it's an automatic Loss, but it's a likely Loss. But hey, that's why we play the games. He's a human just like our guys are.
  15. This. I don't want to second guess Elias, but nobody else in this thread besides me has pondered what the hell Elias is doing with the left side of the infield and nobody has even attempted to offer an explanation for his plan. We have Urias, Mateo, Vavra, Frazier, Henderson and then Holliday waiting in the wings as our presumptive franchise SS. Only two men can play 3B and SS. You basically have all these guys here and so of them very highly touted prospects. You have a gold glove 3B and a hot SS in Mateo off to an excellent start. And it's jam packed. What is up with this organziation's boner with left side of the infield players. Somebody has to actually play OF, 1B, 2B. Luckily Mounty has really stepped up and given us production at 1B so far this year. But I cannot understand what's going on here? What the hell are we actually doing here? I just wish I could ask Elias this question "What. Are. We. Doing". I don't know. Seems to me we could trade a surplus of left of the infield players and prospects for some quality pitching. It's getting weird to me. It's like we are hoarding left side of the infield players for apparently no reason other than Elias' massive boner for the position.
  16. Everybody plays SS in the minors. Almost all of them are below average defensively at SS in the majors. How do we know Holliday can be a MLB caliber SS in the field? Hardly anybody can.
  17. Yea it's getting to the point where Millins shouldnt have even ran and risked being thrown out. They ain't pitching to this guy.
  18. Lol, hyde cant win. He pulls a rabbit out his ass and masterfully utilizes his bench and they come up with big hits. And people are upset. Bro, we are winning the game.
  19. Playing every single day for about 15 years will do it.
  20. 0-2 pitch 100mph fastball straight down the pike. Doesnt matter how hard you throw. Doesnt matter. Fastballs down the middle get crushed by MLB hitters.
  21. True, but I'd like to know what the hell the actual plan is for the infield.
