  1. Story of the series so far - Orioles starters giving out free base runners and the lineup not hitting with RISP.
  2. Yeah not sure how teams will value him because his lack of track record will have some effect on that. It will be interesting to see.
  3. It’s definitely his first good year but he’s been really good. 3.09 ERA, 3.45 FIP, 3.53 xFIP, 3.36 xERA. Kremer had one season with a good ERA but has always had pretty mediocre to bad peripherals.
  4. They still will have a top 3 position player group returning with only one pending FA that has been contributing (Santander). They’ve also gotten next to nothing from CF and 2B this year and have Holliday/Mayo on the horizon. They also got almost nothing this year from Bradish/Wells/Means and got literally nothing from Bautista, who they will hopefully have back next year. Burnes is obviously huge but losing him should not cause the team to go from a 100+ win pace to sub 90 win pace/missing the playoffs. Elias will have to make some moves but they will have almost every important player on the team returning besides Santander and Burnes (not including Bradish since he will have only pitched 25% of the season) and should have some real solid reinforcements coming in Holliday, Mayo, and Bautista.
  5. Yeah 3 would be nice but I think 2 would be manageable. Kimbrel, Trade 1, Cano, Trade 2, Perez, Webb, Akin, Suarez Seems perfectly fine if they get a guy like Nardi and then an equal or better RHP. Then hopefully Coulombe is back at some point - but can’t count on that. They definitely need a starter though and preferably one with an extra year of control. Fedde seems like a really good target who could serve as the number 3 this year and is under control for fairly cheap next year too. They have the pieces to get someone better but he would still be an upgrade.
  6. He’s been above league average in terms of wRC+ against LHP’s since the beginning of last year, so I’m cool with him being a platoon bat and then pinch running or maybe being a potential defensive replacement. Yeah he should not be playing against RHP’s though.
  7. His wRC+ has been below 90 against LHP’s the last 3 seasons. Better than McCann but that’s not very good. Mayo and/or Norby would likely be better options at DH (with Westburg in the field).
  8. I think most of us would like to see that but Elias/Hyde have shown no willingness the last 2 years to play a LHH OF against a LHP besides Mullins/Cowser.
  9. Well he’s started every game against a LHP this year besides the season opener and the CIN game against Lodolo. Even if he doesn’t play against a LHP, the likely DH option right now is Urias who has been well below average against LHP’s in his career. So there is still a need for another RHH bat.
  10. They definitely need another RHH option to play against LHP’s, whether that is Mayo, Norby, or an external addition. McCann just cannot be in the lineup in important/playoff games.
  11. The Yankees pitchers have hit 40 batters to the Orioles 24 batters this year. And O’s batters have been hit 32 times to the Yankees 25 times. There’s nothing wrong with what he said as nobody likes to get hit, but the Yankees are the ones who clearly like to pitch in. Hopefully his feelings aren’t too hurt.
  12. Bad timing with him just coming back. Can Norby play 3B though? Because if not, that would probably cement Urias in at 3rd and there would be no real backup there.
  13. Offense has done nothing, pitchers haven’t thrown strikes or challenged the Yankees at all, and that pick off was just icing on the cake. Still 2 games left but probably one of their flattest games of the year in what is the biggest series so far. Disappointing.
  14. This. His command was clearly not great but he also looked scared to pitch in the zone. They have 5 walks and the O’s have 3 hits. Not the start to an important series you’re looking for.
  15. Where did he say that? I saw his article in the Athletic where he had Severino to the O’s. Also feel like his credibility is not great when it comes to rumors and he has some takes that are pretty out there.
