  1. It's getting unreal how much reliably good and crucial performance the O's get from players discarded or undervalued by other teams. How does the front office spot them?! It's like the Weaver years.
  2. To be fair, he also had Jim Johnson and Zach Britton at their peaks as closers and a bewildering variety of arm angles and speeds to set them up in O'Day, Strop, Givens et al.
  3. Or like my friend once said to me in a similar situation that I wisely declined, I cd have woken up with my bat glued to my belly.
  4. I'd say Means is in fact now perfectly playing the crafty southpaw. Change-up, curve, slider, knuckle curve and 91 mph FB. 8 Ks in 7 IP, 85 pitches. Time to turn it over to the 'pen, I'm sure, even tho that was a smooth inning, bc it's his first start back from the IL.
  5. Well at least we know now he didn't injure his wrist like I thought he might have the other day, whiffing against Rodon I think.
  6. That is so cool. Getting the sense already that the O's are THE team....
  7. Well I was defending him against another post accusing him of having a monotone voice. I do prefer him greatly to Melanie. Also, when it comes to this topic, I'm not an "amateur," having done a fair number of professional voiceovers.
  8. Sorry, but KB, to my ear, is far from a monotone--and I say this not being a fan of his announcing.
