      I feel like they did it because our pitching sucked. Now it doesn't suck, so let's split the difference. I think it would be a mistake to go into 2025 with the current park dimensions.

      Povich is in the rotation for me unless one of two things happens: He's a total flop (like a 8-9+ ERA in the spring) We somehow sign or otherwise acquire 2 arms better than him Neither of those things is impossible, but I think it's fairly unlikely that he'll be that bad in spring training. I like what I saw from him after the demotion/recall, and hope he's able to build on it. We'll never know what we have in him if he doesn't get a long term shot.  The tough part is that we are 1,000% in win-now mode, and management may not think we have time to evaluate him for the full season next year, hence, signing or acquiring 2 arms.

      The 1st inning of DET-CLE was enjoyable. At this point the main outcome I'm pulling for is Yankee Elimination, and that helped.

      Well, sure. If you want to incorporate 2020-22 heavily into your calculus, obviously then you’re looping in Burnes’s elite CY years, and his average numbers would look much better than he’s been in the past two years. But as a pretty sharp guy said earlier in this thread:

      I think the Orioles don’t do that because they’ve never had enough pitching to be able to do that. Any warm body has been forced to make 10-15 starts. If we sign the SP we should sign, Povich should start in that swing role and get the opportunity to solidify himself.
