I'm pretty sure the motivation of starting a meaningless AAA game in September when you should be on the major league roster in a pennant race is a little different.

Bullpen is spent. Unless the bats have a huge night they are going to get beat late. I feel bad for these guys because they are being criminally overused because Elias refuses keep a bulk reliever on the roster so he can keep Lopez on the roster.

Why should they not? That's a hell of a play. Westburg, Santander and Gunnar all screwed up opportunities tonight. They did not help out their beleaguered bullpen.

That's a hell of a play. That's the kind of plus defense that will win a game like this. Just not the Orioles night. These are one of those painful games were they kicked the ball around, weren't able to come up with that key hit too often, too many strikeouts, and a bullpen that can't make good two-strike pitches.

BTW, Frazier has been a terrible PH this year.

My only issue is he's trying to use so many platoon advantages he's burning his bullpen out. He needs to start letting guys pitch multiple innings again.

Jorge Lopez is the Odor of 2023, No one understands why he's here, yet here he is pitching in high leverage spots. Ridiculous.

Yep, piss poor job by Elias here late in the year. He knows he had a 17 game stretch coming. He knows he has some young starters. He knows all this yet has no bulk relievers.

I hate this terrible bullpen roster management by Elias. He was just using up guys like Irvin, Baker, Krehbiel like garbage and sending them back to AAA so he can keep Lopez . There is no long reliever. None to just eat innings and save the pen. Instead now Hyde is using his pen like Tony LaRussa but tries to do it from the 6th inning on when LaRussa did it 7th and 8th inning.

Lol what a shock. Lopez gives up the lead with a crap two strike pitch. this bullpen is totally on Elias. Lopez does not belong in close games on a playoff team.

Hyde has a toasted bullpen. How does Hyde handle it? Brings in every reliever he has to play platoon advantages.

No Jim, Gunnar did not maintain the tag. He did quite the opposite by trying to show the umpire the ball for some reason. Had he maintained the tag the runner would have been out.
