  1. Why play O'Hearn on LF? O'Hearn has played 9 games and 39 inning sin Lf in his career! Cano strike him out!
  2. Definitely not feeling great about this after the way the bullpen has been tonight! Just hoping it doesn't go into extras. Either we win or they win here in the 9th.
  3. I don't think any of us are saying that Adam Frazier should be an everyday player or even be considered to come back in any role next year. All I'm saying is he's been pretty darn clutch this year. Pure and simple, the numbers prove it out. whether that's a repeatable skill year in and year out is debatable.
  4. True, but most of that is driven by bad 7th and 8th innings numbers. He's also been a terrible pinch hitter. BUT: RISP: 300/.385/.560/.945 in 120 PAs High Leverage: .301/.366/.507/.873 in 86 PAs 9th inning: .324/.366/.514/.879 in 41 PAs That's clutch.
  5. Well, welcome to the board. As for this post, that's a hard no from me. No manager is perfect, but Hyde has a team with the second lowest payroll in baseball with the 2nd best record. He's going to be manager of the year going away. We can certainly nit pick on moves, and that's what this board is for, but I'm going to guess you are in the very small minority who would fire Hyde no matter how this team finishes the year. His team don't quit, he appears to run ad very smooth clubhouse, and he's made some adjustments in how he's managed the bullpen since about May and overall has done an amazing job. He deserves a long contract and pay raise along with Elias.
  6. Damn, I'll be honest, maybe it was because of the late camera decision to show where the ball was, but yeah, I thought it was a weak hit too. Damn good piece of hitting by Frazier.
  7. Lol, I'm sure the players were consoled by just the sight of the man. At the end of the day, he was there because they were in the playoffs. Just like John, you never saw him when the team was losing, only when it was "cool" to be seen.
  8. I think we're one or two season away of knowing who Rutschman is at the plate. I've read through all the arguments and looked at his stats, and I think overall he's had a nice year and it depends on your expectations on whether you think he's a disappointment or not. What can not be debated with any merit though in my opinion is that Rustchman has been absolutely a huge reason for the turn around for this franchise and was absolutely the right pick at 1-1. He's a huge reason the Orioles are where they are right now. So whether you believed he was the switch-hitting Mike Piazza with Johnny Bench defense, or you just felt he was an above average major league catcher, what no one should argue is that Rutschman is one of the most valuable players on this team. I do believe many players have "sophomore jinx" seasons and yes, Rutschman has been used at historic playing time levels for a catcher (including DHing), but he's a guy who's as valuable as any on this roster for lots of reasons, and I for one am glad he's an Oriole.

    Joey Ortiz 2023

I agree. Ortiz doesn't have anything left to prove by more playing time. He just needs an opportunity. He's a pretty good trade candidate/chip this offseason.
