    Cade Povich 2023

Last six starts of the season for him: The walks are still too high (15.4%) but guys weren't hitting him much.

Was going to say the same thing about Johnson. He seemed like the perfect candidate to send.
  3. There is little doubt Hyde will win MOY. We can pick away at certain moves, but every manager can and we don't always have all he information that he has at the moment he has to make the decision.
  4. Our ace is back!!! Amazing start.
  5. Agreed. I think that's the way you have to go in one run games.
  6. Perez and Cano were money tonight as well. Great pitched game.
  7. What' a start by Mesns. Now who closes? Flaherty would scare the hell out of me.
  8. Glad to get the extra run but I'd really like to have gotten a few more there. Hard to feel too confident with the bullpen right now and man it would be painful to lose another game late, especially with the Rays having a walkoff.
  9. I do at times. Elias was stubborn with Odor and then with the awful and unnecessary acquisition of Jesús Aguilar. Obviously the success this year makes it hard to nitpick too much, but his first offseason and first trade deadline in a season where the Orioles were expected to compete were not very good. I really wanted a top relief pitcher at the trade deadline and was a bit disappointed they did not get one. When Bautista went down, it really hurt more than it would had he gone out and gotten a guy.
  10. Nobody, and I mean nobody would have taken Lopez and his contract off waivers this late in the year. Even if they did, so what? Sending Irvin down was a terribly short-sighted move. I was shocked when they did it because it left them with no bulk reliever and that meant way too many one innings relievers would need to be used. During a 17 game stretch, this bullpen needed at least two bulk relievers to survive. But I think Elias is hoping they can hold off the Rays and then get those days off and have his bullpen regroup with some rest.
  11. You are two posts in so let me refer you to our board rules. We do not attack the poster here regardless of their opinions.
  12. Truth. The game scorers now a days are terrible. Everything is a hit.
  13. Well, its embarrassing that the schedule makers made the Orioles play 17 straight games in September. Its embarrassing that Elias knows this yet demotes his effective bulk reliever to have Vespi for one day and then demotes him the day after so you can't bring ether guy up for 15 days. It embarrassing that your manager thinks he must use 5 plus relievers every game. All of this is embarrassingly bad, but the Orioles are still in 1st place and the Rays just lost another good player, so hell, I guess its just the way it is this year.
  14. 100% that is how this game should have ended. Cano sucking, and then a fielder bobbles a ball to let the winning run score. At least we didn't go to extras. Dear Elias.. DFA LOPEZ so you have a bulk reliever... Your manager keeps using everyone in your pen.
  15. Can't believe Rustchman just backhanded that with a runner on 3rd. think Cano is pitching around this guy
