  1. It has taken almost an hour to get through two innings. 57 pitches for Williamson
  2. Yeah the pitch count was pretty in an inning that the Orioles managed just one runner on base by walk. That's bodes well for getting him out of the game early if they can keep it up.

    Coby Mayo 2023

It would not surprise me if Mayo goes up during the 4th of July weekend for the Tides which is at home. What's more exciting then getting a new top prospect to go along with 3 Fireworks nights? They could move him up for the whole week too. The Westburg promotion just leaves the perfect 3B hole for him to fill.
  4. While I do think Elias has his eyes on sustained success longterm, the move happening now at the major league level and for winning this year IMHO. I do think the players you posted are the most likely long term players at those positions and you can add Mayo at 1B. While he's still just entering, Jud Fabian as to start being looked at as the long term CF if the Orioles move on from an expensive Mullins.
  5. I think the sense is that Henderson can handle SS right now and although he long term fits at 3B, Westburg has played a real solid 3B this season as well. Urias has improved this at 2B so the Westburg, Henderson, Urias infield may be the best offensive/defensive combo while also letting Ortiz continue to show his value by playing SS everyday in Norfolk. I do think Ortiz is a guy who is probably going to be a prime trade chip.
  6. It's worth noting that Westburg has really improved the consistency of his defense over all three positions. He's mainly played SS and 3B, with only 6 starts at 2B all season, so it makes me wonder if they plan to make Henderson the everyday SS, Westburg to 3B and still keep Frazier platooning with Urias. Urias has hit righties well this year and has played a better 2B than Frazier, so perhaps he ends up there more often and Frazier becomes a valuable bench piece along with Mateo. That's what I would do.
  7. That was my thought on what would happen. so some reason they have decided Ortiz is more of a spare part than top prospect so he goes back to the minors to play SS everyday. Maybe they looking to trade him and need him to play SS everyday to increase his value. The key to this making sense though is for Frazier to be moved to the bench. It will be interesting to see if that happens against the first right-handed starter that they face.

    Dylan Beavers 2023

This was a great example of why I say everything he does is awkward. That's the first time in my life I've seen a guy with an inside the park home run where he looked like he was off balanced the entire run! lol
  9. Everything I have is available free online. I don't have access to offensive splits for positions. As for Ardoin, he is similar to Handley in that he's decent defensively but can't hit. I would have issues sending him back to Low-A because he's not getting the job done at High-A offensively. Ardoin's K rate is awful.
  10. The only real chance Stowers ever got was when he came back up the second time and something was off. I honestly don't even know what he's on the IL for now but I have to wonder if it was bothering him when he was up, but no way Stowers is that bad of a hitter. As for Vavra and Ortiz, when did they get a legitimate chance to start everyday? Ortiz got one week of regular starts. That's a real chance? Over Adley's last seven games he's slashing .111/.226/.259/.485. Do we sit him because we're trying to win games? Rutschman and Henderson are the only two rookies they have brought up the last two years who have gotten every day jobs. The rest were platooned or used sparingly (Vavra is a different category for me because he probably is a bench guy if he can learn to produce without regular playing time). The hope is that the Orioles will treat Westburg more like Adley/Gunnar but that will come from the playing time of Frazier and Mateo mostly. The question is are the Orioles ready to take that playing time away?
  11. Mountcastle hasn't gotten a hit since he's been playing with Nrofolk and does not look good at the plate. I don't know if the vertigo is still bothering him, but he looks nowhere near a guy ready to come off the IL. I honestly could see them putting him back on the IL or demoting him (He has options). I do think Ortiz may get sent back down. Similar to Stowers, Ortiz has not been used like a top prospect but like a fill in guy. Disappointing. Like I've said previously, we just don't know how the Orioles will handle this with rookies. There are plenty of opportunities for Westburg to play regularly between 2B/3B/ and even SS where he's not really that bad but definitely a step down from Mateo/Ortiz/Henderson.
  12. I did, thanks. Made the correction. I'm just hoping to see him given a legitimate everyday chance regardless of where he plays.
  13. I would imagine that could be the main left-handed lineup with Hicks in RF and Santander at DH.
  14. It was the same for Stowers (not that big of a difference) yet the Orioles never played him against left-handers. I'm hopeful Westburg will see regular playing time between 3B and 2B with Gunnar moving to SS when he plays 3B. With the Orioles you never really know how they will handle a rookie. Will he get the Henderson-Adley treatment or the Stowers-Ortiz treatment? Time will tell.
  15. Not a bad AAA debut at all. Then he goes out today and does this: He's quite the story this season under the radar to most.
  16. And 2 stolen bases! What an absolute monster day for the kid. You have to wonder if they will at some point give him some Aberdeen time. I know they have Willems as the main guy there, but they co-existed already this year. Basallo is doing special things as an 18-year old in Delmarva.
  17. I 100% thought of this thread when Bautista came out to the mound. When he blew the save I was like, "Yep, that's about right!"
