Truth. We were always taught if we fouled a ball off close to the plate jump around like we got hit in the foot to try and get a call. That's what Hicks was doing. The problem is you could clearly hear the ball hit the bat.

Ah, sometimes you gotta tip the cap. The Reds outplayed the Orioles this series. They're fast, they can hit, they made some good defensive plays, and their bullpen outpitched us. Add in a Sh-t start by Gibson and this is what we get. Nothing more to take out of this but that they were outplayed and honestly, when you match up talent, I'm not sure we are really that much better.

Every team in the league is going to do that at home. It's the smart move. You don't have to buy it, but that's the way it's always been done.

With all the pitches he threw two nights ago, they didn't want to use him at all. That was an emergency because Akin's pitch count had skyrocketed the day after he pitched.

You really wanted to put Akin out in a tie game in the top of the 9th when you could use Bautista after what you just saw? You play to win in the bottom of the inning, then you pray Akin doesn't suck in the 10th.

Votto looked like a guy ready to go home with a win.
