  1. Yeah, this team is not very fundamentally sounds, that's for sure. That is on Hyde and his coaching staff.
  2. Say what you want, they do things you've never seen before. I mean, have you ever seen a runner thrown out at 3B on what should have been an easy double?
  3. This how I look watching this team 90% of the time.
  4. Wow, that was a hell of a catch, but come on now, Jackson can't tag there unless it was an easy safe. Bad base running.
  5. C'mon though. Those headphones were cute as hell on that baby!
  6. If -1% percentile sprint speed was a thing, it would be Eloy.
  7. Wait, you're not suggesting the 3rd base coach had anything to do with Eloy getting thrown out at 3B are you? He probably was looking down the line to see if runner would score. No one would have thought Eloy would slow up around 2B. No one.
  8. Well he had it pretty hard before coming here so he has a history. Still, can't rag on him tonight. He's the Orioles entire offense right now.
  9. Well I'll take it. Rivera having himself a nice game.
  10. Bwhaha, Cowser must've thought there were RISP and no outs with that strikeout. What a terrible at bat.
  11. Lol imagine getting the second hit of inning down the line and they still managed to make an out thanks to Eloy being the slowest human to play major league baseball.
  12. Just release Eloy. Embarrasing.
  13. Ok, can they get more than one hit in this inning?
  14. Actually not the worse call on the situation.
  15. 91 MPH fastball thrown right by Eloy. Embarrassing.
  16. Crazy how teams can do that. Seems so odd watching this Orioles offense.
  17. Doesn't matter the ERA of the starter either.
  18. 7 damn singles. Good lord miss a bat Albert!
  19. Wow, this team just knows how to go bad quickly.
  20. "frequently using him to finish off the inning of the starting pitcher and then pulling him." 7 of his last 15 appearances he did finish off the starter/piggyback pitcher's inning and was removed.
  21. In the end, Mancini's value was two pitching prospects which honestly, was more than I thought they could get for him. I do agree that players have to perform at the major league level to ultimately be a win.
  22. I'm really not arguing against that trade and I do think that trade was a good one, for no other reason than to free up at bats that Mancini was going to take. But, until a player does something at the major league level, you can't say it ended up a great trade IMHO. It will be hard to judge if McDermott never does anything at the major league level (which if he's healthy, is not likely since I do like him in a relief role) since Seth Johnson was part of a package to get Soto. If Soto becomes good, it could be argued that Johnson helped land him so anything Soto does is a win against trading Mancini. Just to be clear, I was for that trade and like the return at the time, so I do think that was a goo trade. I just think you can't "win" a trade unless the players do something for you at the major league level because you can argue that maybe selecting other players would have helped more. We'll never know because we'll never know the possibilities, so all we can judge is value to the team at the major league level.
  23. We all know the OPs author M.O. As I said, of course I would not fire Elias, but he's not above questioning some ways he does things.
  24. Who said that? If your referring to me, I said "Tampa won the 3-team trade due to Siri, so far!" Of course I'd rather have McDermott and Soto (Johnson was part of the trade) vs an end of the road Mancini. But so far, McDermott has done nothing at the major league level and is 26-years old and hurt. Can't run a victory lap when the players received have not done anything at the major league level.
  25. The 6-4, 21-year old is one of the weirdest prospects in the system. Last night he was absolutely unhittable with a 96-98 MPH fastball and sharp slider that totally befuddled hitters. He's a short armer who works extremely, and I mean extremely fast. He's been very good since about late June, but the Orioles don't treat him as a prospect, frequently using him to finish off the inning of the starting pitcher and then pulling him. Yesterday he went a season high 2.2 IP, striking out 6 of the 9 batters he faced. He got 11 swinging strikes in just 41 pitches. He's been very good since the end of June 15th, pitching to a 1.13 ERA over just 16 innings covering 14 games. He's struck out 15m but has walked 11 over that timeframe. Looking at his stats through his career, he never really missed many bats and walks too many, but maybe just maybe he's found something. The command is not great and he throws too many uncompetitive pitches, especially in the dirt, but with this arm, I'd like to see them use him more often in multi inning assignments and not just finishing off starting pitchers innings. Again, the command is not great, but the arm is nice and last night he looked about as good as a pitcher can look.
