  1. Oh well, we deserve to lose this game. I'm not going to get mad. It's just the truth. When your closer puts a ball on a tee for the all time AL HR season leader you don't deserve to win. That pitch is as bad as the Mckenna drop. It was literally that bad an 0-2 pitch.
  2. Well, that's pretty much the game. that's what a shut down pitcher down. He keeps good pitches off the plate. Not putting a ball on a tee. Bautista blew this game pure and simple. He should give his game check to charity because he did not deserve this one.
  3. Yep. It's just embarrassing that a major league pitcher, a guy who supposed to be a closer, throws that pitch in that situation. A middle middle splitter? on 0-2? No way he should have been anywhere near the middle of the plate with anything. He had three balls to give. He was throwing 100 MPH. Either it's a 100 MPH up in the zone off the plate or a splitter below the zone. It really bugs me that we just blew a save with such an awful, awful pitch. Not even a competitive pitch. closers can't make that pitch. They just can't.
  4. We all hate to lose to the Yankees or blow leads to the Yankees, but to do it on an 0-2 pitch after getting ahead with two 100 MPH fastballs? The next pitch is either another 100 MPH fastball or a change in the dirt. The last thing you do is throw a little league middle middle shit splitter.
  5. Just an absolute piece of crap pitch. You can not be a closer on a contending team if you are going to throw 0-2 crap pitches. Just can't. Now, he didn't try to do that, but you can't have that kind of lack of focus and command in that situation. That is just the kind of pitch that makes me not trust Bautista.
  6. Holy crap, Henderson almost screwed that up. I don't know if he could get a grip but that was one too many steps.
  7. Totally the right decision. We've had a bad call by an umpire, a missed DP by Henderson, then a bloop.
  8. Gunnar has to get his act together defensively. Man has he regressed defensively this year.
  9. No, no. You're totally irrational. Just not about a guy scaring you that throw 90-91. He throwing a sinker and look a little like a right-handed Bleire.
  10. I would not be upset if Cedric deposited another one over that little league right field fence!
  11. Look, this song is a tradition. Does it makes sense for Baltimore to have a song called "Thank God I'm a country boy?" as a 7th inning stretch?Nope. Does it makes sense for Boston to have "Sweet Caroline?" No it does not either.. But both are traditions and there is something fun about yelling that "Yee Hah" at the end. It's 1000 times better than the old "Take me out to the ballgame" that they tried to replace it with. That is the Cubs tradition. So if you don't like it, you know what? "Well life on the farm is kinda laid back Ain't much an old country boy like me can't hack It's early to rise, early in the sack I thank God I'm a country boy Well a simple kinda life never did me no harm A raisin' me a family and workin' on the farm My days are all filled with an easy country charm Thank God I'm a country boy Well I got me a fine wife I got me an ol' fiddle When the sun's comin' up I got cakes on the griddle And life ain't nothin' but a funny funny riddle Thank God I'm a country boy When the work's all done and the sun's settlin' low I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow The kids are asleep so I keep it kinda low Yeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Thank God I'm a country boy!" By the way, most Orioles players know to stay out of the batters box before the fans have their Yee Ha!! Good for them!
  12. On top of it all, he just legitimately seems like a guy you can really root for.
  13. You mean Steve Stone, the guy who won the Cy Young because of the amount of wins he had? He had a 3.98 FIP that year. Poor Mike Norris got ripped off. i mean, 10 year old me loved Stone and thought he definitely deserved it. 53 year me feels like sending mike Norris a "Sorry for your loss" card.
  14. We could use an excellent lefty starter. Adding a 1969 version of Cuellar would be pretty darn good for this team. But I'd go 1968 McNally with his 1.95 ERA and 0.84 WHIP, 28 CG and 5 SHO if we wanted to add a lefty.
  15. Can they at least be orange and black robes?
