  1. Well there goes that. Stowers will get pinched hit for now that the lefty was called in. So yay, McKenna!
  2. I'm calling Stowers with a go-ahead HR in this inning. I've seen this game from him in the minors. Look lost and terrible for 3 PAs then boom in the 4th.
  3. Hyder, you should be focused on the game not in the Hangout game thread!
  4. Say what you want, its not like McHugh is making mistakes. That's some damn good pitching.
  5. What is this guy talking about? Henderson did not skip AAA.
  6. He sure as hell missed that 3rd pitch:
  7. That's not spinning anything, that's the truth. Prove me wrong. I didn't say they don't have talent in the system, but tell me someone else that Elias has drafted in his 4 drafts that is performing well at the major league level besides Rutschman?
  8. The Braves, we'll draft Shuster, Strider and Elder in the 2020 draft and rebuild our pitching staff by 2023. The Orioles. We'll draft a bunch of hitters, stack them at AAA and move the left field wall back to attract pitchers. Then go out and get Gibson and Irvin.
  9. No doubt. The Braves and Ray are at the top of the game. I do think the Orioles have done a good job, but to be fair, literally Rutschman, who was a no doubter 1-1 draft pick, is the only guy Elias has drafted in 5 years that is performing well at the major league level.
  10. Mullins had a real nice take 2-2 to get to 3-2, but that was a nice pitch under the hands for strike 3. It's no fun, but I can understand just getting struck out with a good pitch vs Mountcasle swinging at 1-1 pitch at his ankles because he has no approach.
  11. Just a painful game to watch unless you love pitchers getting outs with RISP. lol
  12. It's always going to be frustrating when the Orioles leave a bunch of RISP. It's just a frustrating game to watch.
  13. Man, I think they just pitched around Adley a bit and rather go after Mullins. Hope he makes them pay!
  14. That was a great pitch but that up and in pitch is 100% a swing hole for Stowers. Always was. He can't get to that pitch.
  15. Eh, it's the game thread. I don't personally get bad feelings based off the 1st inning, but some do. I really don't pay much attention to it. The game thread has always been the emotional rollarcoaster ride.
  16. I think all fans do. Well at least all fans except the orange colored glasses types that are like, "we still got a chance down 12-1 in the 9th. lol
  17. Man, the Braves drafted Strider in the 4th round and Elder in the 5th round in 2020 (Orioles drafted Mayo and the fragile Baumler and gave them over three times the amount of money). We discuss that Elias is good at drafting, but the Braves show how to draft a pitching staff.
  18. You know, this has been a problem most of the year really besides a few games here and there. This team doesn't have many of those RBI guys. The Eddie Murray's who knew how to get runners in. They have a lot of guys that swing very hard all the time, and don't or can't make adjustments in these situations.
  19. What is the deal with the "The" in front of the A on the braves uniforms? Are they they trying to be like Ohio State and NSA?
  20. This offseason was so head scratchingly bad for Elias, that I'm still not sure whether he was shocked by a low budget he was given or that he really is that risk adverse. I still don't know the answer to that and probably won't until this next offseason.
  21. Yeah, that was almost the game winner with the way this offense is being shut down by Braves pitching.
  22. And? He was out. I'm tired of hearing this he hit it hard like it matters. You know what matters, getting a hit. Maybe if batters went to more of an all fields approach in certain situations they could get a flare to RF for a single vs a hard ground ball right at a fielder who was positioned EXACTLY where the hitter hits the ball. I do think this is part of the reason why Mountcastle under performs his expected stats. He hits the snot out of ball, but is it just bad luck that for two years in a row he hits the ball right at guys or is it because other teams know how to position their fielders because he has a very narrow hit ball spray?
  23. You where you continued argument fails on merit? Actually, a lot of Triple-A pitchers do have major league stuff. They may lack command or consistency, or make too many mistakes in the middle of the plate, but it's not like the pitching is awful there. And besides, you are not supposed to be developing at the major league level if the team believes they are a contender. I'm not ready to say Gunnar needs to go back to the minors yet, but we're probably a week or two from him needing to improve or he may be sent back for a bit.
  24. Here's the thing with Stowers. He can be awful 2 or 3 at bats and then hit a 420 foot home run in that fourth at bat. He's definitely a guy that will look very bad at the plate at times. then again, he always hit left-handers better than right-handers in his career but Hyde refuse to bat him against left-handers after the 5th inning.
