  1. If you go into the "illustrator" portion you can go down to the velocity slider and pick any MPH. Here's what he hits against velocity: 96 or more: 0-for-3 (.000) 95 or more: 1-for-5 (.200) 94 or more: 1-for-7 (.143) 93 or less: 3-for-7 (.429) So he's hitting better against "fastballs", but its because Hyde has done a good job of giving him matchups against guys without the big fastball.

Agreed, not even sure why it was brought up in this thread. I mean if it was a fun throwaway question, then great, but I can see how it confused people in the context of this thread.
  3. According to rWAR, he's been more valuable than Ryan Mountcastle. Nothing will excuse that drop in Boston, but I do subscribe to the theory that Gunnar running out like a madman in a short outfield may have threw him off a bit. Not blaming Gunnar, but that is inexperience because an experienced infielder who had played in Fenway, knows the left fielder will get to that ball easily. McKenna is doing well in the role he's been given. He still strikes out too much, and you don't want to expand his role, but he's doing what he's here to do against left-handers (.345/.375/.517/.892 in 32 PAs.
  4. We could never beat the Rays when they weren't good! Oh well, a good 'ol fashion domination by Tampa pitching and more poor hitting with RISP by a team that has hit poorly with RISP most of the season. Well let's try and again tomorrow.
  5. You are reaching for straws here. But whatever makes you sleep better at night.
  6. We are? They have hit 41 which is middle of the pack in the AL. The Rays have hit 71 this year.
  7. That guy has been doing that for years. He's at every game and is fairly annoying unless you like having a man scream something you already know by looking at the scoreboard.
  8. The Orioles are proving that they can beat the bad teams but are not quite ready to beat the good teams. Like in the playoffs, you need those top level players to beat the good teams.
  9. They really haven't hit the ball that well this year. This is not a good offense overall. I mean, they bat a guy with like .270 OBP 3rd. lol.. They've been able to beat up some bad bullpens for some bad teams. They really haven't had much luck against the better pitchers. Adley is in another funk and that doesn't help. There is no one to really pick him up when he's struggling, especially against left-handers.
  10. Weird, it's almost like this team sucks with RISP. I blame Frobby for the Who would you like have up in this situation thread.
  11. Well lookie, lookie, two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd. As a team, we must be like 1-for-30 in this situation.
  12. I wasn't using compete as a bad thing. We've played very well against the bad teams. We're one game below .500 against .500 plus teams. That's competing.
  13. You know, there are reasons why Tampa and Atlanta are a combined 52-18. They're pretty good and they have legitimate TOR pitchers. Elias decided Gibson and Irvin were good enough this offseason. Personally, I think the Orioles have competed pretty well considering the offseason Elias had. Had he come out last offseason with a TOR and MOO, we'd be something impressive this year. But alas, we have to battle with what we got. At least it's competitive.
  14. Gibson has gotten us where we want so they need to be careful if he gets a couple guys on.
  15. What lineup can it split out that will hit McClanahan? He's pretty damn tough.
  16. Well he went up looking dead red and got a single. That was McClanahan's fault. Why anyone throws a straight strike to Mountcastle is beyond me. He'll literally swing at a ball in the other batter's box.
  17. Jesus guys... sorry!! I clearly was talking about that swing! I'll be more specific so you guys don't break a damn nail trying to correct me!
  18. Agreed, I just think he didn't get either a good read or didn't know how many outs.
