  3. Matos did have a 4 WIN season as a 24-year old but they soon found the holes in his swing. He never really had the minor league success that Hays had. Matos career minor league slash 268/.331/.389/.719 pales in comparison to Hays' so far .286/.327/.508/.835.

Jarret Martin - LHP (Traded to Dodgers with Tyler Henson for Dana Eveland) 28. Troy Patton - LHP 29. Joe Mahoney - 1B 30. Brian Ward - C If i had to do it over, I think I would have put Machado #1! In fact, my top 10 should have been (By WAR in their careers after 2019 season): 1. Machado 36.9 (Was #2) 2. Eduardo Rodriguez 13.6 (was #13 after GCL season and 1 Aberdeen start) 3. Schoop 13.2 (#3 yay..got this one right) 4. Bundy 6.8 (#1 but hadn't pitch pro yet) 5. Givens 6.2 (Off the list before his conversion to pitcher) 6. Caleb Joseph 4.6 (Not on list) 7. Troy Patton 3.2 (28th) 8. Pedro Florimon 2.5 (25th, but was right about him being a utility guy) 9. Oliver Drake 1.4 (15th) 10. Parker Bridwell 1.3 (6th) Note, Tim Adelman and Steve Johnson both had 0.9 WAR and would have been next.
  5. i really do think Hays' lack of performance at times have been directly tied to rustiness and lack of timing because of the frequent layoffs with injuries. Whenever he's been fully healthy for awhile he has put up really good numbers including the last 25 games off AAA and his major league time last September.
  6. Matos and Finley (pre-enhancement stage) were never at Hays' level. I do not think it will be "astounding" to see Hays play at a Adam Jones level at some point. as they have very similar skill sets. Hays was slowed by injuries and was not fast tracked through the minors like Jones was because he went to college vs signing after high school. They have very similar tools and although I agree that if Hays is mentioned in the same breath as Jones we should consider Hays a significant success, but I wouldn't say it would be shocking if we do at some point.
  7. I think Jones is a pretty decent comp for Hays, though it bears saying Jones was already established in the big leagues at Hays age. I'd say if hays has a Jones career that would be a very good success for him and the Orioles.
  8. I probably should have just done one poll for 7-10. But, it is what it is! Good luck!
  9. Hays over Diaz because of him being able to play a premium position and has already shown the ability to hit at the major league levels. I also think Hays has a slightly higher ceiling.

  14. We will hopefully be doing something like a podcast or facebook video after the list is out and perhaps that is a better place to discuss your questions. Thanks for your longtime support.
  15. I assume you mean you were at his site at one point, because Shepard was never part of OH. I've also been doing this since 1996 so I'm not exactly replacing anyone. I guess thanks though.
  16. I don't even remember that. Might have been the year I was in Iraq and Drungo helped out with the prospect list.
  17. I'm pretty sure I've explained my process at the top of the list in the minors section: "We developed this list after doing our own scouting (Video and in person), analyzing statistics, and after analyzing comments from players development personnel and professional scouts inside and outside of the organization. As with last year, I worked in collaboration with Luke Siler to develop the list. Our official list listed here is the collaborative result of our analysis. "
  18. Haha. Knowing the way I type when I'm going too fast, that does seem like something I would do.

You also want to see more from Elias before you will believe he has full authority to spend the Orioles allotment on international free agents, so we get you.
  21. Always welcome my friend.
