  1. This actually isn’t true. There is a lot of talent(some of it is hurt)..and a lot of it should be up here right now. Now, whether or not that talent develops is a different story.
  2. No he’s not..if he was looking for guys he trusted, half of the pitchers on the staff wouldn’t be there.
  3. Yes, anyone dying will be difficult. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Whats not difficult is maneuvering around this issue.
  4. That could happen with a lot of things you come in contact with. I mean, I guess if you want to live your life afraid, have at it. The players can opt out. They aren’t being forced to play.
  5. People getting all worried about this but who cares? So, some team(s) end up playing 45ish games..so what? What they need to do is go to a 50 or 60 man roster, instead of 40. Teams don’t want to cut a bunch of players just to field a team. So, allow them to bring up as many as needed. This isn’t really that difficult.
  6. Certainly possible. He certainly has more hope than guys like Phillips, Carroll, Hess, etc...
  7. He’s not any good. He has no business pitching on this team.
  8. Valid point..could be a reason he can end up a reliever.
  9. No it’s not..he’s not that good either.
  10. It was 41 innings and he was 25 years old. The year before, his MiL numbers were good but again, he was an advanced age for his league. Its not really that impressive.
  11. They don’t have to give up on him but he’s not going to become anything in all likelihood. When you can’t command/control your fastball and your fastball doesn’t have good movement, you have very little hope of becoming anything. He’s already 27.
  12. Would be great if he opts out. His presence on the team effects other players in terms of playing time. Him not being there makes things a lot easier to get guys like Mountcastle consistent at bats, whenever he comes up.
  13. MAYBE he could be a ML reliever...maybe.
  14. There is some good upside in the arm of Armstrong..and he had some positive peripherals last year, despite a high ERA. It wouldn’t surprise me if he becomes a solid BP piece for a while..just as it wouldn’t surprise me if he is a DFA guy and out of baseball in a year. Right now, I think he is one the guys in the pen that should be used for high leverage situations. I never need to see Carroll pitch again. He isnt a MLer. He has zero idea where the ball is going and while he throws hard, his stuff is pretty mediocre.
  15. First of all, the Os revenue is fine...people buying that line are being very naive. Secondly, sure they could decide they don’t want to pay him..but acting like the pitchers you mentioned are a reason not to is hilarious. They don’t belong on a ML roster.
  16. Why would you even mention those players? They are nothing. They have no upside and aren’t MLers.
  17. Being a mess fits right in with our rotation..the difference is that he has actually shown himself to be really good and he has done it recently.
  18. His velocity is down..maybe hurt? Even if he is, get him and shut him down for the year and have him ready for 2021.
  19. He has been good in recent years. Good buy low opportunity for the Os.
  20. What if a player gets the flu and dies from it? Would it have been worth it? What if a team plane crashes and kills an entire team, sill it have been worth it? Lets not jump to extremes here. End of the day, either the players are going to be smart or they won’t. MLbPA should want to get this right as much as the owners do.
  21. They may end up bringing up their taxi squad. The Marlins team can’t play for a while, so either they don’t play for a few weeks or you bring those players up.
