  1. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2023-mlb-farm-system-statcast-pitching-rankings/
  2. Looking at his ranking across most publications....don't expect much if any slot savings. And if he was the best guy on their board that's fine.
  3. My guess is Chase Davis. Really fits the model for type of hitter Elias has a tendency to draft. Big power and exit velos, good swing decisions etc. Seen him compared favorably to Kerstad. Probably a small haircut on bonus to spread around too.
  4. And he wasn't even the first HS pitcher selected 3. Ian Anderson 4. Riley Pint 7. Braxton Garrett 9.Matt Manning 12. Jay Groome Plus two college arms 6. A.J. Puk 8. Cal Quantrill Maybe Whitley was the guy they were targeting. But going off industry consensus(dangerous) there may only be 4 or five arms off the board when Os pick.
  5. In 2016, coming out of their rebuild, the Astros did draft Forrest Whitley out of HS with....the 17th pick. So maybe a pitcher is a possibility.
  6. Prospects live has released their midseason list and they appear to be quite bullish on the O's Gunner at 2 not 1, but 8 players made top 100 2 Gunner 3 Grayson 23 Holliday 24 Hall 53 Cowser 58 Mayo 67 Westburg 92 Kjerstad
  7. Mancini out of the lineup today too... Probably just a standard rest day.
  8. https://www.mlb.com/news/teams-with-best-hauls-in-2022-draft?t=mlb-draft-coverage Another early review with high praise for the Os. Notable that of the 6, yes the Os picked 1.1 but the others picked 10, 11(and 14 for Mets), 15, 16 and 18. So just having a high pick did not automatically positive marks.
  9. Hard to be critical of a class headlined by Jackson Holliday. But the Orioles parlayed that pick into several more high-profile selections with intriguing data and traits I feel comfortable the team can lean on as the player moves up the ladder. We’ll gloss over Holliday because, frankly, he’s immediately a Top 100 prospect and presents 5-tool upside.
