Without getting too political, it's tragic when anyone passes away from it. That said, I'll be shocked if any pro athlete gets sick and passes away from it. These are young men and women in outstanding physical shape, AND they have access to the absolute best health care in the country.

If that's the best they can do, then there's no reason to even have a season. Might as well just put us out there.

Pitching changes? Injury during a game requiring a substitution? You'd need at least 12-13 players going into a game, and that's probably not even enough.

It almost seems like they have to if they want to have a season. I can't believe that they didn't anticipate this happening (likely multiple times), and have some kind of contingency plan.

I'd take a .780 OPS from our 26-year old 3B making the league minimum. Excited to watch Ruiz this season and see if he fits into a bigger picture... Right? Those numbers aren't outstanding, but when you consider that he's regarded as a good glove at 3rd, I'll take it.

So if the season WERE to end from this and the O's don't play any other games.....could the O's declare themselves 2020 AL East Champions? Asking for a friend.....

And I should add - again - that you would like to think MLB had some kind on contingency plan for this very thing.....
