  1. I’d say Tampa. I don’t want to see Arozarena in a playoff series. Ever. He kills us and I’m sure he’d go off on a big stage. Their pitching is really good.
  2. Get a good SP that can fit somewhere around Bradish/Grayson/Means, 3 or more stud bullpen relievers (one of those should be a top flight closer, especially if Bautista is out for 2024). Not worried about the positional talent.
  3. Lol, I like it when RZNJ comes in and tries to hold people's feet to the fire for comments that were made a week or two ago.
  4. I like Palmer. If not him, Bautista. Certainly no elected officials.
  5. Saturday grids are easier. They always put up more season stats/award winners.
  6. This morning was a cakewalk. 9/9 112 rarity score. Took about 3 minutes.
  7. Getting a game up on Tampa was the best birthday present.
  8. Pitched a great game. Bullpen essentially gets two days of rest now.
  9. Someone just turn off Kevin Brown’s microphone. Talking about how if Toronto holds their lead and the Orioles win this game the magic number is 3. Dude, stop it.
  10. I have always disliked Jordan Romano. Looks like a smelly middle school kid.
  11. Looked like vintage Means. I mean, that was a start he’d make pre-TJ. Great to see.
  12. IIRC, we’re actually better on the road. Gotta take tomorrow’s game against Cleveland and I like our chances to take both from the Nats. Can’t overlook Boston to close it out though, they can score some runs and I’m sure they’d love to spoil a division title for us.
  13. I’m glad I didn’t get to watch much tonight. I saw some of it in my phone, tuned in just in time to see Santander fall on his face in right field, then whatever happened on the ball hit up the middle right after that. I kinda want to know what happened but at the same time I’m just a bit relieved that the Jays took one from Tampa tonight, too. At this point I’m hoping we can still take the division while on running on fumes and rest up for the playoffs. Getting a first round bye to rest the bullpen is priority…do that and I can see us winning a division series. If we don’t get the time off, it might not be pretty.
  14. I didn't know my dad hacked your account. Hi, dad!
  15. This video had to be put together by an Orioles fan. There's no other way to explain Elias talking about how they had to put together an analytics department and then show him shaking hands with Rick Dempsey. That's hilarious.
  16. Frank Robinson didn't win a Heisman, didn't almost kill Brian Bosworth on a MNF game, didn't spiderman up the wall at Memorial Stadium, didn't throw Harold Reynolds out at home flat footed from left field, didn't lead off an all-star game with a home run followed by a Nike shoe campaign that was still quoted 30 years later and wasn't the best video game athlete of all time. I love Frank, but he falls short in a lot of areas when comparing him to Bo Jackson.
  17. It's not always about the financial risk, but I agree.
  18. Pretty sure that John Angelos would point to Wander Franco being a chomo as a reason not to extend young players. Just a wild hunch.
  19. Let me be clear: I don't think it's a good idea any time of the season. Especially with pitchers that are max-effort guys that are hitting triple digits on the radar gun with regularity. We agree that shortening the season and having more off days would be good but that's not happening. I'd propose to start the season a week earlier and extend a week on the back end with more off-days scattered throughout the regular season to break up stretches like this. I also don't think a slightly expanded roster in September really alleviates anything.
  20. I've been beating this drum in the game threads over the past couple of days. But it's been noted on here by posters other than myself that we're in near the tail-end of 17 (SEVENTEEN) straight days of games without an off-day. One poster (and I can't remember who, or I'd credit them) mentioned that he felt that the MLB scheduler didn't think we'd be a factor at this part of the season, so why not give the Orioles 17 games in a row in September? 17 games in a row is a grind at any part of the season and probably not a good idea but, IMO, much more in September when a team is 140~ games in and players are tired. I don't like making excuses for our guys because, to borrow a phrase, I like our guys. They're professionals and they need to do their jobs no matter if they've had a rest or not. And while I believe our bullpen is fairly thin on overall talent, I also believe 17 games in a row is more of a culprit as to why the bullpen is gassed. Tampa also went through a stretch of 17 games in a row earlier this month too, I'm not losing sight of that. I just don't think it's a good idea for any team in the last month of a season to play that much in a row.
