  1. I don’t want Seattle near the playoffs. I’m not too worried about Tampa if we have to face them in the playoffs. I think they’ll lose some momentum as they don’t have their chomo shortstop, McClanahan, Siri…they’ll be good but those are three key pieces for them.
  2. I'm not worried about a pecking order. We've finally got a team with depth. We've got guys that can start a game or can come in the late innings and not feel bad about them being on the field. No more Pat Valaika types. In regards to the "pecking order" I don't care and I don't know if there really is one. It depends on who's on the mound, the matchup numbers, etc, although whatever the pecking order is, Mateo is the last man on the totem pole. But he's the first guy off the bench to pinch run in a playoff game, that's fine. The rest, I am not worried about.
  3. Urias is fine. In regards to the error last night, yes his throw was terrible and there's no excuse for it but a good first baseman should have been able to pick that, no problem. Both statements can be true. I do believe the role that Urias plays on this team revolves around his defensive flexibility. He can go on an occasional tear but he's really here because he can play all the infield positions. Headed into the playoffs infield depth and defense is the least of my worries. We'll only go as far as the pitching takes us.
  4. No, they have their little WHIPS, DIPS, and tortilla CHIPS metrics that they can't make decisions without. So the Orioles might be outplaying some of the metrics, whatever, they're the best team in the league by win/loss record which is the ultimate metric at the end of the day that they don't seem to care about.
  5. Yeah, I'm not seeing it. He still needs to iron out some wrinkles before anointing him as a playoff starter.
  6. The early returns are encouraging. He looks pretty good so far. The hard contact is nice to see.
  7. Yeah, well, they want to look like they're the smartest guys in the room. They want clicks, and here we are, bitching about how the Orioles are in Tier 3 while the two other teams are in Tier 2. And yeah, I clicked on it. I don't like Fangraphs.
  8. Giancarlo is Italian for “Chris Davis”
  9. No way G-Rod doesn’t start game 1 or 2.
  10. That’s exactly what Fangraphs are. Bunch of hatin’ ass haters.
  11. It would be cool if the hapless Angels could do their job tomorrow against Tampa.
  12. That a guy in his 3rd big league game and hasn't played the field yet might not be ready to in a situation like this?
  13. If we hold on here, this is a lucky win. Baker doesn't challenge that run at the plate earlier, Myers doesn't run on that chopper...I mean, the Astros have beat themselves a little bit here.
