  1. There wouldn't be Covid-19 if it weren't for Hyde!
  2. We would have won the World Series last year if it wasn't for Hyde!!!
  3. Roy, when I was in the 6th and 7th grade, I'd hurry home from school and turn on ESPN to watch Up Close, SportsCenter, etc. I always liked your interviews partially because I thought you were a positive dude. And now I know after all these years that you have a dark side that you only show here in the game threads.
  4. We'd probably have 10 more in the win column if it weren't for Hyde. He is AWFUL.
  5. That sucks. Hopefully the rest of the division loses tonight though.
  6. Hate leaving the bases loaded but we got the pitch count up. Hopefully we can get deep into their bullpen tonight and leave it depleted for the weekend.
  7. I love having a lineup of guys that are patient at the plate. It’s a luxury. And a joy to watch.
  8. No one is hotter than Mountcastle right now. Unbelievable.
  9. Shut up, that’s your desktop wallpaper.
  10. ...right. And yet, all we know is to still blame Buck. And keep blaming him because he's not telling the whole story. His comments would lead you to believe that he's not telling the whole story. And so...that's it, it's over.
  11. Like I said...you guys are annoyed because you want answers. You all are dying to know what happened and why he didn't put Britton in and, quite frankly, I don't find it interesting anymore. My imagination isn't running wild here because it's exhausting. To me, yes, you're accepting responsibility by not allowing anyone else to be involved. I've said it repeatedly here. And like I said, it's exhausting.
  12. Sure. I mean, I'm kind of tired of debating this, and saying the earth is flat when comparing it to this situation is false equivalency, but you know that. So, like I said, agree to disagree because at this point we're just talking in circles and no one here is changing anyone's mind.
  13. CoC is a jinx himself. I agree, I think O'Hearn's emergence might have stirred something in him. I hope so, anyway. There was that anecdote from ST all those years ago, Buck asked him why he didn't walk more, or why he wasn't more selective with swinging at pitches and Mountcastle laughed or something. I don't remember the details but the impression was that he did know better and he did know it was stupid to swing at some of the stuff he was swinging at but he wasn't up there to walk. He was up there to hack. That said, he does seem like a reasonably intelligent guy. I have a hard time marrying the ideas that he knows better than to swing at low and outside sliders but he chooses to ignore it...and that it took O'Hearn raking while he was on rehab to have the realization that he needs to get his act together, use the whole field and be a more selective hitter. I want to believe that narrative but it's hard. But maybe he is that stubborn, maybe being awful for the 2nd half last year wasn't enough for him to want to change. Hard to say.
  14. Because of the logical fallacy that you can't deflect blame unless there's someone to actually deflect the blame to. As it stands right now, it was still Buck's decision to not put Britton in and Ubaldo instead. Not bench coach John Russell, not Rick Adair, not Dom Chiti, not anyone else. The decision to not put in Britton still rests squarely on Buck's shoulders. You don't agree with that, and that's fine. So, agree to disagree.
