  1. I think the Jays home whites are ok. I just think the Mariners jerseys haven’t been updated since Griffey Jr was young and they looked awesome in the early 90s but they look awfully dated now.
  2. Our city connect jerseys are bad but not nearly as bad as the Mariners jerseys. These teal ones are garbage.
  3. Becomes a top performer for the Astros down the stretch, wins 15 games next year.
  4. Yep, but 8 million says otherwise, unfortunately.
  5. Yeah, he had a hot streak and it was fun. He's had some key hits and moments along the way. He's flashed more power. It's very fair to think that he finishes the season as the guy we all thought he'd be. And I'm in no way saying that I think he should still be the starter....I'm just saying, he hasn't been as bad as I thought he'd be.
  6. Simmer down, boomer. You take this message board stuff a little too seriously sometimes.
  7. Yes, especially when your motivation on this board is to never be wrong. About anything. Frazier's been better than expected.
  8. Damn. Should have kept Rougie.
  9. That'll happen if it hasn't already. Cashman's already had to come out and defend his team once earlier this year. Judge is still hurt but Stanton is back. Seems like they can never get those two healthy and in the same lineup at the same time.
  10. Not upset at Julio Rodriguez and his struggles. Hopefully we can take 2/3.
  11. I’d say he’s cooked.
  12. Agreed, but I'd hate to see Mountcastle up in a late and close situation against a RHP because he pinch hit for O'Hearn earlier against a lefty. That's the thing about platoons; If the splits are too far extreme one way or another, you can get exposed. I don't think O'Hearn is a good hitter against LHP so the platoon option is one that they'll have to go to instead of getting rid of Mountcastle. Hopefully next year they have a 1B that can hit lefties and righties and this is all forgotten.
  13. Correct, Hicks has been fantastic. But if we can not skip a beat with a perceived over-the-hill free agent acquisition like Hicks, I'm sure we can find a suitable replacement for Frazier, Mountcastle, Mateo and Mountcastle from our amazing farm system.
  14. Hard schedule ahead for us. We start with 3 against the Mariners tomorrow night who always seem to give us fits. Two weeks ago, I thought the Reds would be an easier series but they're the hottest team in the majors right now, they've won 11 straight. Then it's the Twins, @NYY, @ Twins, ASB, Marlins, Dodgers, @Rays, @Phillies, NYY and @Blue Jays to finish the month of July and into August. Outside of the Twins (who you still have to respect a little bit), that's a hard road. I'm not totally concerned about it because we've risen to the occasion more times than not this season. But what I AM worried about is the Yankees schedule over the same amount of time: They're finishing a series against the Mariners tonight and looking for a sweep. Then they have the Rangers, @A's, @Cardinals, Orioles, Cubs, ASB, @Rockies, @Angels, Royals, Mets, Orioles, Rays to finish the month of July and into August. They still have some tough competition but I'd much rather have their schedule than ours. We are 4.5 games up on them in the standings. And if our biggest fears about the other shoe dropping and reverting to our Pythag are going to happen, this seems like a prime time for it to occur.
  15. C'mon. Look, Frazier is a low bar to hurdle. We have to be confident that one of these guys from our vaunted, hyped, #1 farm system has to be able to put up AT LEAST what Frazier is doing. We have to be confident that one of these guys from our vaunted, hyped, #1 farm system has to be able to put up at LEAST what Mountcastle is doing. Santander might harder to replicate, but my answer to that is that Santander isn't the lynchpin for this team. If we can lose Mullins for 3+ weeks and not skip a beat, I would wager to believe we could replace Santander and not skip a beat, either.
  16. Sure he does. He's not a long term option for this team. I can't really see him being here after this season, can you? Especially with Cowser and Kjerstad on the horizon? And maybe a guy like Mayo getting squeezed from the infield? You seem to think that I'm implying that Santander is a bad player in the sense that Frazier and Mountcastle are. I never said that. Santander is a fine player, he's just in the way of better, younger talent.
  17. No. I don't think I will. I'll prefer to think that our AAA guys are future Hall of Famers and that Elias is a dolt for not trading Frazier, Mountcastle, Santander and anyone else in their way.
  18. "He's not gonna be successful in the pros with a body like that."
  19. Yes, Ryan Mountcastle and his production that has declined each year culminating in a .686 OPS this year has tremendous value. I'm sure teams would value his statcast numbers and his power because when he's not striking out at balls 3 and 4, he might get lucky and run into a fastball sometime.
