  1. I went with Holliday back up but I also don't really care.
  2. I didn't say you endorsed it either. I hope they don't. Baumann is expendable, there's no reason to keep him around. Akin, if healthy, can be pretty good. He throws strikes.
  3. Akin's been good this year, I don't think there's a reason to option him for saving Baumann.
  4. Bucknor had a few missed calls last night but wasn't as terrible as he's been. Good lord though, if he's 77th out of 81 umpires, who's the 81st? I'm assuming Hernandez.
  5. I think you're grasping at straws now. Just because Hyde didn't use him last night as a defensive replacement doesn't mean he doesn't trust him. We're also aware that it was Hyde's call not to use him last night and not yours.
  6. There we go! When was the last time anyone anywhere ever brought up Blondie Purcell?!?
  7. Well said. I don't believe that was an 85% catch probability but he should have had it.
  8. Whoa, I thought Drungo would be in here prattling about High Pockets Kelly and the Federal League or something. Instead he's here vanquishing @sportsfan8703with one hand behind his back.
  9. Jeff Ballard would be so lucky for an entire year. Wait, he was.
  10. I had no idea slow runners helped with double plays. I’m glad Kremer knew when to coax those grounders.
  11. Yes, I’m glad those double play balls he brilliantly planned helped him go 7.
  12. I’d much rather have Jack Flaherty!
  13. This comment is dildos, as in your vendetta against Burnes. He leads the team in innings pitched.
  14. I think pitching to contact is a bit of a myth. “Yes, I’ll let Juan Soto hit the ball. It’ll work out well for me.”
  15. It's not that I'm not disciplined...phone alerts, wife, friends, etc make it harder than necessary if I can't watch a game and don't want to know the score.
  16. I'll differ a little bit...yeah, great start tonight from the perspective that he got through 7 innings of 2 run ball. That's fantastic. But only 7 swinging strikes and 4 strikeouts against 4 walks. He got some DP grounders but the Yankees were making loud contact in the early innings before he settled in a bit. That's the thing that kind of confounds me about Kremer, he'll have a game where he'll strike out 7-9 batters and you'll see real swing and miss stuff and then the next start it'll be hardly any swings and misses, not as many strikeouts. Maybe that's why he's anywhere from a 3rd to 5th starter. Tonight was a great outcome but I don't think he looked his best.
  17. Speaking for myself, I hate watching recorded games. I probably won't do it, unless it's a really big win or I missed a huge performance. Even then, there's a lot of fast forwarding.
  18. Didn’t that used to be Giancarlo Stanton
  19. Westy getting picked off here would be terrible.
